I don't see why not.
I like to play online, and will watch poker on tv when nothing else interests me.

don't tell me who wins the main event cuz i intentionally have been avoiding the sportcenter and poker websites during that week.
It's been awsome so far. Mortenson, Hansen, and Gavin smith at the feature table...

Cool. I know who won because someone already spoiled it for me, but I'm excited to see the details.
I have invites to thepokerbay.org if anyone's interested in poker torrents.

I'd like an invite if you don't mind, it'd be much appreciated.

yeah it's been outlawed in the U.S. about a year and a half ago.
there are some websites you can get into and play dollar tournaments still, but they're hard to find since it's illegal here.
Playing for play chips is lame, so it's good to play tournaments because people won't be as reckless. The competitive desire is still there.
I play alot at Commerce Casino at the 5-10's, but it sucks because i can't stomach a bad day of playing, like say if i lose $800 or so.
When i'm out east i play at Atlantic City at Cesar's, because everyone and their mom plays at Borgata, where on weekends you'll be stuck in a 90 minute wait.
If you've ever played in vegas, you know that place is FULL of bad players. Like you can cash at every table you go to if you know how to target the bad players.

I'm playing on pokerstars right now. I have no problem depositing cash on there using a debit card.
Anyway if you're having problems depositing check out: http://www.railbirds.com/ It's a pretty cool community with a wealth of information on both the user blogs and the forums. The icing on the cake is the two $200 private freeroll tournaments (free to enter but you can win real cash if you place in the money) they run daily on both pokerstars and fulltiltpoker. Note they probably aren't the greatest to play payoff wise unless you just want to practice or have no way to deposit cash and want to try to start a small roll to sit down at the tables or sit n go tourneys with. All you do is sign up over at railbirds and fill out your profile. Do some posting on the boards for a couple days and then you should be entered into the database and will start receiving the freeroll tourney passwords 2 hours before each event through PM's.
If anybody ends up signing up and wants to add me to their buddylist over there PM me for my username.

wait, so you found a website with real money gambling that allows US citizens to play? is this for real? dont get my hopes up. I used to play Pokerroom.com like a madman for about a year before the US went and gay'd shit up.
If this is ferreal, I will check it out when I get home and start getting my addiction back. I remember on pokerroom I could make 20 dollars last me a month of entertainment. It was fun getting up to 200 bucks or so and then playing a heart-wrenching, white-knuckled 100 dollar , 10 man tourney.

I live in the US and can still deposit money using a debit card on pokerstars. Actually, I know a lot of people who are able to still deposit cash on there. They still accept e-passporte, western union, money order/cashier check, cash transfer express payment, diners club international, visa, and mastercard. A lot of visa and mastercard services don't allow you to deposit to online gambling sites anymore but the mastercard debit card that I use works fine. When you cash out pokerstars sends you a check.
If you can't get a cc or dc to work your best bet is probably epassporte or western union.

You know what I really hate?
- You raise up 5x the big blind pre flop holding AA and get 2 callers.
- The flop comes cown 566 all off suit.
- You raise up pretty hefty, one folds, and the other pushes all in.
- You call the all in push figuring them for a high pocket pair as well.
- They flip their cards and are holding A6 off.
- You know damn well you've lost because the odds of you catching an ace are fucking slim.
- To add insult to injury the turn comes down a 5.

This bitch had no business being in my fucking hand and caught such a lucky flop.

so... how are these places getting away with it. I checked and the law is still in effect. I just signed up with Bodog because I want to place some bets on games and it worked like old times.

Online gambling isn't specifically illegal in the US, there's just kind of a vague law against US banks transferring funds to gambling sites. Most of the sites decided to ban US players just out of fear of the legal implications, but Pokerstars, Full Tilt, and a few others have kept allowing them.
People who can't use their debit cards to deposit (including me) need to get either a Visa gift card or a www.epassporte.com account.

yeah, I had to use epassport, which isnt too bad. Do you know if you need to enter in a check routing number every time you want to deposit money into epassport?

Exactly.
They run commercials for Full Tilt Poker all of the time on tv here.

anyone got any reccomendations for which one is the best? I really liked Pokerroom.com, especially its layout. I can use Bodog just for sports gambling... but I dont really like the configuration of the games and tourneys. Every single person there waits the longest possible time they can before making a move, and the layout is rather crappy.
