Identification needed | Two mushrooms | Faroese Mountainside
    #13141973 -

Some friends of mine and I were taking a walk up to the mountains. On our way down, I thought I might as well start looking for some mushrooms, as the season has already started in the Faroe Islands.

I think the ones on the left are liberty caps, but I'm not sure about the ones on the right. They look quite similar, but don't have the "nipple", like all the liberties I have picked in the past years have. I only picked a few, but I only need one for growing more. I thought I should get the ones on the right identified in the process.

Now, I know the quality is really low, and the picture is blurred, but a friend of mine broke my other camera, that was PERFECT for taking pictures of mushrooms and spore prints. I haven't gotten around to buying a new camera, and he refuses to pay for it... So this will have to do.

The ones on the left:

Here's a closer look:

The spore print it gave me was really small, so the camera didn't pick it up, but it was brownish black.

Habitat:
Grass on mountainside, sheep walking around and poopin', some of them were growing out of sheep poop.

Gills:
Dark brown gills. (same goes for spore print)

Stem:
Length varies from 3-5cm, 1mm in diameter, brown color, solid, thin.

Cap:
5mm in diameter, light brown to yellow color, sleek leathery texture, conical and convex with a nipple on top.

Spore print color:
Dark brown/brownish black

No bruising.

The ones on the right:

Habitat:
Grass on mountainside, same as the other.

Gills:
Dark gills.

Stem:
Length varies from 7-11cm, 3mm in diameter, dark brown color, hollow, thin.

Cap:
Varies from 1cm to 1.6cm in diameter, dark and light brown color, sleek texture, some where slimy, conical and convex.

Spore print color:
Black

No bruising.

Thanks :I

The ones on the right are maybe Conocybe, Panaeolus and Stropharia semiglobata.  3 of the others are libs and I think one might be a Conocybe.  I'm being a bit guessy because the pics aren't ideal, but well done for checking!

A place without forests? No, thank you.

To be fair, the Faroers do look wild and awesome. I just can't be without a forest of some sort for a long time. There is nothing like a damp forest in fall with its breathtaking smell of fresh mycelium. It can quite literally cause me tears of joy.

Thank you all for your help. I will probably go hunting again soon, and hopefully by then I would have a decent camera...!

The pro's:
1. It's very beautiful here.
2. Very welcoming and friendly people.
3. No crime whatsoever. If someone robs a store, it makes the front page, and everyone talks about it. We haven't had any successful murders here either. A crazy man (whom I know) tried to kill a politician once, but only hit him in his leg.

The con's: It's incredibly boring to live here for more than six months. That is, of course, if you don't have any mushrooms lying around. Then it is fantastic. I mean, imagine sitting on top of a mountain, you're having the best trip of your life, and the sun starts to set. Mind=blown, man!

Also, I agree with you German Kahuna, we need trees.

We do? I didn't know this, I've got to go see them, wherever they are!

I think he was joking, playing with words. Pharao, Faroer. Typical elprawn.
