We've added a new forum to the BB.

Support Group Central
Everyone has problems. Sometimes they're too big to handle alone. If you're struggling with one of life's many trials and want some help from the community, this is the place for you. Please remember that any advice you get is just that - advice. The Shroomery cannot be responsible for your well-being and if you have a serious problem you should directly seek professional help.

I would just like to say this looks like a wonderful new forum!  I know this forum will definately serve me well with all the problems I have, I will also be glad to try and help others there.  :wink:

I agree that this is a great idea for a forum.. Many of the most interesting threads on this site have been ones where others were trying to help one another.

I am going to start a university psychology course soon and make it to a phd. Until then, I do know quite a bit about psychology from reading a shit load of material.

I don't want to sound like a dick, but I don't think that's a good idea. Here's my reasons:

1)I don't forsee much posting there, it will probally become another sleeper forum.

2)There are assholes who will give bad advice, and there will surely be someone foolish or distraught enough to follow such advice.

3)Disclaimers aside, it's another media frenzy waiting to happen.

the pub is already OTD v2.5
so support group central can be OTD v3.0

of course one could argue that those numbers are already assigned to things like political discussion and spirituality and such.

i think all these forums suck. but you guys already know my opinion on the matter.
