Hericium erinaceus is commercially cultivated in some countries by
bottle cultivation. Cultivated Hericium erinaceus has bigger fruitbody
and shorter teeth than natural one. Common bottle cultivation method can
be adopted.
Brief process is as bellows:
1. substrate
    formula : oak sawdust + wheat bran(20%) + calcium carbonate(0.1%)
    moisture content : 68~70%
    pH = 5.0
2. incubation
    temp. : 25'C
    Co2 level : 5000~40000ppm
    Period : 20~25 days
3. pinning
    temp. : 15~22'C
    Co2 level : 500~700ppm
    Relative humidity : 95%
4. fruiting
    Co2 level : 500~1000ppm
    Relative humidity : 70%

Hericium erinaceus naturally grow on the tree side. So, bottles that are
laid down or put upside-down yield more than bottles which are erect.
And, bottles with large mouth are more suitable.
