Yet another of my first-fruiting-Mushrooms. Still a bit small but hope they go on.  :smirk:

Hi there.

I'd use substrate I had seen on www.mushworld.com. It's a shiitake-substrate with 34 % millet. Primarily I make it for my shiitake-spaw, then I decided to test it also with the hericium.

Here is the exact composite of the substrate:

total amount: 1500 g 100,00 %

sawdust: 858 g 57,18 %
bran: 81 g 5,38 %
rye: 41 g 2,70 %
lime: 2 g 0,14 %
saccharide: 14 g 0,92 %
millet: 505 g 33,67 %

Here is also a link to mushworld.com: http://www.mushworld.com/tech/view.asp?cline=3&cata_id=1120&vid=6487

Greeting

Seems to be a "strong" mixture !
Wonder how much they yield ...

Update.

Here you can see my Hericium erinaceus cultures. I had to dispose the one on the left because of mold and flys.
All culutres don't really grow well.  :frown: Think the substrate was a bit too dry...

I have experienced that a good fruiting environment makes a lot of difference.
When there is not enough light, air exchange or humidity the cultures often start to pin but soon abort or do not yield very well if at all.
