can I force the little buggers to pin
    #1296979 - 02/10/03 01:47 PM (21 years, 4 months ago)

I had an earlier post today but did not receive much of a responce so I thought I would perhaps try again....I have used half pint jars and inoculated them 24 days ago and all I still have is the white growth...I am keeping them out in the open in my bedroom with indirect lighting and the temp around 75-85 degrees....I want them to start pinning if poss. sence the white is compleatly taking over the entire cake.  or should I just wait for them to react to what is natural for them....please help me with this...they are now upside down in the box the jars came in upside down. with the tape on the holes...should I also remove the tape now or not...YEAH I am a NEWBIE....

You'd want to keep them in the dark during incubation. As long as the mycelium is still growing, I wouldn't worry, it just might take a little longer.
