Damn its been 2 weeks and the tray is still not compleately colonized, there are lotsa white areas all around... rabbit is so impatient and he is afraid that if he lets the compost sit for another week or 2 then it might dry out inside... or worse contraminate... so rabbit is thinking about starting fruit stage today... what could be the result of fruiting from not compleately colonized compost? uneven pinset? is that it?

as you induce fruiting it will keep colonizing, hopefully finish up....
I wonder if you could mix it up to help it finish??? just like you shake grain to distribute the mycelium???
How big of a pan? how wet is it?

about 10x5 and about 2 inches deep
one time rabbit got high, and thought that some mycelium peaces were killed when he was spawning compost with 3pf cakes... (he didnt let the compost cool compleately, becouse he had limited time) anyway rabbit started the fruiting stage... he wants to see some pins early next week...

2 inches deep is pretty shitty man. 3+ for casings. as for colonization, just let the thing sit (in the dark) till the top layer is pretty much overlayed and then put a casing layer on top. that way you will get as even of a pin set as you're gonna get.

I did not mean to add grain, just mix up the existing casing..... well you could add grain... hm........
but yes, get another opinion before you do this... don't do like Nike...

I knew a guy that had a tray of poo colonizing nicely. Just to experiment, he mixed it up. After he did that, the whole thing stalled.
