Proper way to use comas?

How am I suppose to use them?

"I eat apples, kiwi, and candy."

or

"I eat apples, kiwi and candy"

?

Please explain.

First one is technically correct.  Both are legitimate uses.

I proper way to use a coma is for hibernation...now the proper way to use a comma is different.

"I eat apples, kiwi, and..."

Always more than one comma in that situation.

I still have problems using commas properly myself but I'm like an English master and the funny thing is I HATE to read and write. It's just one of those natural born skills or whatever.

A proper use for a coma is to put the body into a state of hibernation while the body undergoes what might otherwise be a painful or difficult procedure.

In regard to your comma dilemma:
It's called a serial comma.

I always comma everything.  Example:


I like boobs, ass, and legs. 


I don't like how people write it like this:    I like boobs, ass and legs. 

It's technically correct, I learned in highschool back in '02 that they changed the rules and my second example is now ALSO correct, but it doesn't look right.  I'd say stick with commas after every word like in my first example.

It's called a serial comma.  You can put it in or not.

Wikipedia says the Chicago Manual of Style says use it, but the Associated Press style guide says to avoid it.  (who knows)
