Yes and No.
By the age of 15 I was already a "Spiritual Naturualist" When I first ate shrooms.
I have talked to many living and some non living things!
My first MAJOR conversation with a tree was on mushrooms though, It was not a pleasant experience in fact "he" left me terrified, although this is the exception and not the rule.
Now im sure this all sounds quite unbelievable but so is excistence!
I believe god or "I am" is in everything..The ultimate mystery we are all one yet individual..

I saw that thing too, it was really interesting.

One thing though...

"When the hummingbird stuck his beak into the flower to feed on its nectar, a horde of aphids would climb aboard its beak and crawl into it's nostrils to hitch a ride to the next flower!

How cool is that? I can't believe that such a tiny little insect can have that sort of mental capacity!"

I don't think the aphids do have that kind of mental capacity. I think they crawl onto the beak instinctively, and are carried to the next flower out of sheer luck.

fluck is right, these animals don't have a large mental capacity at all. That is why their complex behavior seems so novel to us in the first place. Because we can't comprehend patterns like that happening without the help of a master mind behind it all. It's the result of millions of random occurences happening simultaneously to create a situation like aphids climbing onto hummingbirds.

Thankyou kind sir..

Kinda strange you say that, The last time I read the Trilogy I got to thinking about how we try to fit our own personalities on to fictional characters. The wise old wizard, The beautiful yet wary Elves, The Strong honorable warriors,..
I thought of myself as each one of these for a time an Ent as well, but oddly enough I came to the conclusion im a hobbit!
