Opium Questions.

I don't know much about growing/using opium, so bare with me. From what I understand it's not very hard to grow poppy plants (if that's what they're called) from poppy seeds. I think I have two questions. If I were to grow a poppy plant, could the leaves be dried and smoked like pot, or Salvia? Would this be smoking opium? And I know this has been asked a million times before, but there has been no definite answer; will regular supermarket poppy seeds grow a poppy plant with a sufficient amount of opium? Thanks for any help.

no. smoking the plant will do little or nothing positive. growing one plant would be useless, imho.

reports vary, but mostly i hear yes. if you want more info, i suggest poppies.org.

So what part of the plant do you smoke? I'm not really looking to deal opium, I would just like to smoke it from time to time. So would one or two plants still be pointless for that purpose?

usually slits are made in the seed pods before they mature. over time (hours or a day) the pod excretes a resin that dries to become a gummy gunk on the outside of the pod. that resin is collected and smoked. i would say less than 5 or 10 plants would be a waste. i find them to not be so easy to grow but i don't live in a very friendly environment for them. much more details are at poppies.org

actually, i believe after the gunk oozes from the pod and is collected, it goes through one more process to clean it up.....that would be, add the gunk to slightly(just starting to) boiling water...most 'gunk' should dissovle.....strain out whats left...evap the water....leaving behind 'smoking opium'.........
thats my take on this process anywho....im sure one could just smoke gunk right off the pods.....and this extra step is probably for large quantities of Op. that is destined for H manufacture.....

Its not really necessary to do anything to the opium. One opium poppy plant will yield enough opium for about a dose or two, therefore, it isn't worth it unless you want to just try it.

I'm growing a few poppies indoors now for seed only. In my experience they are pretty easy to grow as long as you give them the right conditions. You can also make tea out of the pods to get a stronger effect.

If you plan on making tea, I suggest using the whole plant, even the roots if you can get them clean enough. I've read alot of shit about how the roots contain decent ammounts of morphine.

Yeah the whole plant contains morphine and other alkaloids. I'd range the parts in potency as follows:
-Pod/Head -Roots -Stems -Leaves
Here I've attached 2 pics of my dried poppies. Pods and stems. These are Turkish variety. 2-3 of these in a tea and you'l be fine

Some of the best with highest contents of morphine pr plant is Tazmanians, Indian Raj's and persian whites to mention some others. One tablespoon of crushed powder Tazmanian pod knocks my socks off hehe.
I usually make tea of the pods first, and save the stems for later. And you can cook up the leftovers several times too.

i habve always been an advocate of the poppy-pod tea. i recomend that anyone interested in opium as an entheogen grow thier own, as it adds to the reward. it also helps ensure that one will not indulge too often, keeping in mind that we are dealing with [chemicaly and psycologicaly] adictive substances.
