I consider myself a nihilist, but I consider myself a lot of terms that I feel have become over-used and generic.

I'm not aware of any group of nihilists that go on to cause suffering (can/would nihilists form a group? form is anti-nihilism), maybe you mean the incessant whining of sad idealists? If that's it, then, I mean.. you can't really expect anything else from people who feel run over and dissatisfied. Whining is what people do when they're upset.

Personally my feelings toward meaninglessness push me to go out of my way to seek pleasurable experiences and friendly/fun/funny interactions; if only because I feel like my life is a complete waste and the only way to create a sense of worthwhileness is to do as much of what makes me feel positive as possible.


I'm also a huge whiner and I waste a good amount of energy arguing and bickering with people about unimportant bullshit to get a rise out of them to make myself feel better.
But that's got nothing to do with the understanding that everything is meaningless. That's more about feeling run over and dissatisfied. If anything, meaninglessness and emptiness is what makes me feel better about it.

How can anyone spread suffering in other people; what are the mechanics of this action?
Even assuming that they are lacking some personal insight, shouldn't those who "suffer" because of the influence of someone else's words, have the same lack?
