Is it bad to spray peroxide directly on cake?
    #12518957 -

I have some brf cakes and I accidentally sprayed some peroxide directly on to them. The peroxide was not diluted with water it was right from the bottle ( i put the bottle of peroxide into a spray bottle, and accidentally misted with the wrong bottle).

Will this halt the growth of my cakes, they have been in the terrarium for 3 days now and were fully colonized for 1.5 weeks before birthing, dunking and rolling.

Will this damage the potency of the mushrooms the cakes produce?

You're fine, don't do it again.

It shouldn't affect your cake.
I accidentally dropped an open bottle of peroxide in my terrarium,
and some of it spilled on my cakes, and they turned out fine so i think you should be okay.

I think the bottle is only 3% anyway and when used in application we use it at .5%, so only 6x what you would normally apply to a cake if it was contaminated with cobweb.

Peroxide can slow growth of mycelium. IMO it should slow your cakes development a small amount depending on how much you sprayed on it.

naaa I'd recognize that anywhere, it's a clear mushroom-human hybrid. You jizzed on your cake, admit it.

If you're in the US and buy peroxide in brown bottles, it's already diluted to the strength you need to kill cobweb mold.  Other than that, there's no reason to spray your cakes with anything but plain water.
