I just went to petsmart and bought 2 bricks of bed a beast and 1 brick of coconut bark. I am going to use the bed a beast first. I want to know if I should sterilize it by baking. If so, what temp should I use? Or just microwave it like I have read in a post the Roadkill wrote. Please advise.
Just to note I tried finch seed by Morning Song with the creeper spores and they are almost completely covered in mycelium. I did some jars of b+ with BRF and they are only 1/3 to 1/2 way covered with mycelium. I think I am going to go to bird seed from now on.

well i think it is the same a coco coir. Coco=coconut? It appears to be a little more barkier than the bed a beast.

is it advisable to sterilize the bed-a-beast?
i heard they're pretty sterile to begin with, and don't necessarily need sterilizing ???
how about the vermiculite?

If the bark looks like beauty bark that they use in flower beds....take it back.
Baking takes alot longer than microwaving it.
