60/40 on the bottom of a casing instead of straight verm?
    #1517846 - 05/03/03 05:46 PM (14 years, 2 months ago)

Can this be done?
My friend made a little bit too much 60/40 and wondered if it would be beneficial to add to the bottom of the casing. He has heard of using straight verm on the bottom, but why waste more verm when he has a lot of 60/40 left. A quick reply would be great because my friend is trying to do it right now.

Also could one store extra 60/40 or will it go bad with the water in it.
thanks!

someone i knew put a bottom layer 60/40, about 1/2" thick, and it worked just fine.

Yes it is OK.

However it is good to save some in a ziplock bag for patching later.
