That's fairly straight forward, anyone who got at least an A or a B in high school chemistry should be able to attempt that without much difficulty.

interesting that he only does 3 20 minute acidic boils. i have been going way overboard, boiling at least 4 or 5 times over an hour each time. i stop after the boiling and dry the boil extract with no further processing.

I would suggest standardizing your solutions of acid and base so you know the molarities of both and that way you can determine specific volumes at specific [M] concentrations to add. And an indicator wouldn't be too bad either during titration.

It is not a very difficult tech just time consuming. I used citric acid and NaOH, I would stick with xylene you can get it at home depot . I have a colledge buddy who is a chemist and he hooked me up with everything that I needed. I started out with six pounds san pedro and ended up with about 4.25 grams, 1/8 gram did very wellmaybe level 2 to 3 but smoother.
