syrian rue w/san pedro

I was wondering if anyone knew a good dose to take with a san pedro extraction i made the other day. The extraction was prepared with about 3oz and is being split between 2 people. We plan to take syrian rue with it, to potentiate the effects, hopefully. Anyone know a good dose. I was thinking around 2-3 grams but i am not sure.

i wouldn't recommend this combo, it seems a little dangerous of a combo (MAOI + cacti)...
3 dried ounces should be enough for 2 people (depending on how much wheight we're dosing)...

I'm not very informed about this combo, but i hope you have done your homework.

These cacti usually contain many PEA's besides mescaline.
Many cacti of the trichocereus genus - including pachanoi - also contain tyramine, one of the big no-no's with MAOI's.

Although i know of people who did the combo without problems i'd approach it with caution.

well i have found some reports on erowid, i havent really done my homework. I have done trich before at almost the same dosage, and i wasnt really satisfied. I suppose i can let you know what happens.

MAOI's with stimulant type phenethylamines can be risky but from what I've read there havent been too many problems with this combination. I'm not sure I would dose higher than 1 oz. dried with syrian rue though. If it does potentiate the effects 3x and you do 1.5 oz that would be the equivalent 126g. dried.  :eek:

Ive read reports of 8g rue and 2g shrooms and they tripped balzz. Ive done 12g rue+ 2x M360 vikes noded out nike never before. I would dose 1oz and 3-5g rue, mabey get a 3rd peron in.

Im preaty sure this combo is like MDMA and meth which means its a no no.. I searched for links but couldnt find anythign to back it up :S

I'm not sure. I know its bad to do with amphetamines, and while mescaline is a PEA, its not an amphetamine. Until this threads I hadn't read any serious warnings about it. There are a few trip reports on Erowid, and thats about all I can find.

Rue being an MAOI i think might depress the seratonin release for a roll. What a waste :frown:

Hmm. Why would it depress the serotonin release? It inhibits MAOs which metabolize serotonin. At least thats my understanding of it. But you're really not supposed to do it with MDMA. Not sure if theres reasons beyond the amphetamine part..

phenethylamines are similar to tyramine
tyramine Tyramine (4-hydroxy-phenethylamine) is a monoamine compound derived from the amino acid tyrosine, that is a member of the phenethylamine family. It occurs widely in plants and animals and is metabolized by monoamine oxidase. If this process is compromised by the use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and foods high in tyramine are ingested, a hypertensive crisis can result.

also the wikipedia says mescaline is/can be converted to tyramine.
maoib + tyramine(mescaline or mdma) = hypertensive crisis
