Confidence
    #12156522 -

Before i used drugs I was not very confident. However, after a while I became confident with myself, or at least i thought i was. I didn't realize how shallow and easily shattered my confidence was. I never truly understood what true confidence was like. That changed when i started to experiment with different drugs. One of the most profound moments of understanding what confidence is, was when i did extasy. I was truly confident in myself. I felt invincible and could hold a conversation with 5 beautiful girls at once when i was usually rather quiet. I now work towards being this confident all the time. I have definitely not reached it yet, but i have come a long way.

I think that if you can reach this level of confidence the vibes you send out will convince people of what you try to convince them of.

First hand experience tell me this. An example is in high school i was not truly popular, or at least with girls i wasn't. However when on extasy or shrooms and in times of extreme euphoria and self confidence on these drugs i became amazing at talking with girls. They were truly into me once i reached this level.

What are your thoughts?

I've never done extacy, but I did alot of dextro-amphetemine, sounds like you went through what I went through, so sociable and confident.

I have always found that to be very true. People will pick up on the vibes you put out there.

droogz i'll do that, though habitual thought patterns are easy to end up in... but practice and a good sense of humor over time can help to mend ones mental problems.

This thread was moved from Philosophy, Sociology & Psychology.

Reason:
The trick is to learn how to "take back" with you that mindset to the sober world.

Especially with ecstasy, it's easy for the feeling of confidence to slip away as days pass after the experience.

An any case, this post is better suited for the Physical and Mental Well-Being forum. You'll get a better response there too. Hope this makes sense.

Drugs have changed who I am, for the better. After doing numberious amount of amphtamine and ecstasy, the feeling of confidence and ephoria sets a new bar for personal growth.

After feeling 'above' everyone on so many occasions whilst on amphetemines you kind of walk away thinking, well, no one is better than me, we are all equal and i have nothing to be afraid of. Eitherway being out on drugs does make you social and will help you learn to talk to new people and make new friends. There is always something to take away from an experience. You dont have to be on drugs to be the person you are when your on them, you just need to step back and evaluate.

My confidence is so high at this point in my life, just gotta love yourself and the rest will follow. I wasent always this way, personal growth is key.

it's hard to take back the confidence you gain after using a drug. when I m on oxy i just have the best mind set, i plan out how i will improve my mindset when I m sober and everything, but i just have to fight to keep the mindset when coming down.

i found what helps the most is to meditate when your coming down, this will ease your thoughts. and yes drugs have increased my confidence in soooo many ways!

plus once you actually start doing positive things your life will be :awebig:

I'd say that it's pretty difficult to carry on certain drug feelings to a sober mind and actions.  I've been trying for quite a while to tap into the social energy I get from alcohol/caffeine... with some success.  But there are certain pharmacological aspects of drugs that a sober mind cannot touch.

Confidence is all a state of a mind.

Its like you learn to build on it as time goes on, whatever works for you.

I enjoy the hightened sense of confidence after a few round a brews :evil2:

I remember sometimes drugs would make me confident, and sometimes the confidence would linger for a month or two. But eventually the drugs stopped doing anything good for me so I've been straight for 9 months. I am completely lost and have no confidence at all. I think the only way forward for me is to just accept myself as I am and remain present to this moment right now. I'm not focussed on my confidence though, I also have no motivation or joy in my life. I think that my lack of confidence is a side effect of being unhappy and of self hate. So I am focussing on Self love, the love of god and being happy. Being happy in 'the now' for no reason. I have come to the conclusion that I will never really live until I get some peace love and happiness from within myself. Through peace love and happiness I think confidence will come naturally. Right now I have little peace, love or happiness, but I make myself constantly focus on this all the time, to find out wether my thoughts will create my reality.

how old r u?

honestly i think there is absolutely nothing wrong to take a medication for confidence. I can definitely say chemicals played a big part in alot of times meeting girls. lots of people do drugs to have confidence to meet people. its normal.

The difficult part is evaluating your success whilst in that very mindset. People on meth may also think they could replace the best worker at USA Cleaners with their house-keeping skills. What would appear to be a girl rolling her eyes at you in sobriety may transform into a googley-eye-fuck while intoxicated.

Alcohol, aka liquid courage, is also a notorious confidence booster. I agree they can sometimes be helpful, especially in getting the ball rolling and creating a friend base to draw from later as a resource. The problem is, at least in my previous experience, is that they get accustomed to this ball of exuberant energy but don't get to know the real you... assuming you can get to know anyone in a party atmosphere. God, I feel old.

Drugs make me not give a fuck.

You seem to be "putting pussy on a pedastil" as they say.

Women are just people and are not better than you, just treat them how you treat everyone else.

If you are really that worried about getting laid understand that even being an ass or a dork will get you laid more than being shy.

Mind enhancing drugs are a good way to get a glimpse of potential, to peek over the mountain so to speak.

The point however is to eventually cross that mountain pass and reach the valley behind it. One must remember that the glimpse can guide you as to where you need to go, what direction you will be taking, but then you got to come down the edge and walk the rocky path.

Only this will create long lasting changes in one's life.

A good way to boost ur confisence is talking to bar sluts. They have no soul so there is no shame in accidently saying something insulting. (This is more or less a joke, lol)
