i have a job interview tomorrow

at express news. im a little nervous cause i dont do well at all with interviews.

im also worried about my drug test. ill be fine if its a piss, but im fucked if its a hair folicle. i took high amounts of adderall a few times last month.

Congrats on the interview! Hopefully I'll get a job interview sometime soon here... I need a job so I can move out of this tiny apartment and rent a house.

Nice!!! I just got a call from a company I applied at and I've got an interview tomarrow too! 9:30 AM.

I'm not that good at interviews either but thats nothing a little xanax can't fix. :grin: And I've got the synthetic urine and heating pad ready for the piss test.

Confidence is key with job interviews. I'm gonna walk in there tomarrow with the mind-set that I've allready got the job.

I think I've got a good shot at getting the job because they build "van bodies" there, which are basically small semi-trailers, and I've got 2 years experience at a bigger, more well known factory building semi-trailers. Over the phone she asked about the work I did there and said their company is very similar.

I REALLY hope I get this job. I think they pay $12-$13 per hour, and thats pretty good considering I was going to accept anything $8.00 an hour or above from the temp agencies.

Hardly and jobs do the hair follicle test. The test costs $90 for the company, compared to $15 or so for a saliva test, and $10 for a piss test, so you should be totally fine dude. No need to be nervous.

Maybe have some relaxing tea before the interview?

well im not going to the interview tomorrow cause i got another/ better interview today. i went in and nailed that fucker! i only worked 4 hours today, but from now on its mon-fri 8 to 5.

i work for as an order selctor. we supply tools for larger companies. i had a few orders today that called for wrenches that were 60+ pounds. its a reall cool chill job. fucking fast pace and im pretty much by myself all day which is how i like it.

The interview went good!

I go back tomarrow for a tour of the plant and more interviews with the supervisors. :smile:

I'm pretty sure I've got the job. One of my friends Dad's is actually a supervisor there, so if he happens to be one of the supervisors that interviews me I know for sure I'll be getting hired.

I really hope I get 1st shift though. If I get stuck with 2nd shift I'm going to miss ALL the good concerts comming up... Infected Mushroom, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights.... I'll only be able to catch Saturday Night shows, and thats if I'm not working overtime.

They have a really strict attendance policy so I'm not going to miss work to go see a show. The only day I'm willing to miss is the Friday before SummerCamp. And SummerCamp will make up for any shows I miss anyways. At SummerCamp I'll be seeing Bassnectar, Pretty Lights TWICE, STS9 TWICE, EOTO TWICE, Umphrey's McGee 3 TIMES, and Moe. 3 TIMES.

I'm really hoping I get 1st shit though. The only bennefit of working second shift is I get a $.60 pay raise per hour.

I had an interview today too, for my dream job. First one since I graduated college.
It's for an apprenticeship with the Minneapolis Pipefitters Union for HVAC service.
Only thing is...I'm up against 51 other applicants. They told me on a 'normal' year
they would take 20-25 apprentices, but since the economy sucks, they only took
4 last year. I still feel good about it though. Strange interviews, very fast paced.
Only 6 minutes per interview. One of the questions they asked me was, "How does
$19.00/hr starting sound?"  lol. Yeah, I guess that would be okay. :grin:

Nice! What did you go to school for? HVAC?

I went to school for HVAC and was trying to get into a HVAC or sheetmetal apprenticeship in Madison. But with how shitty the economy is/was it would have taken forever for me to actually get into the apprenticeship.

I'm happy with this factory job for now.

Yep. I have an A.A.S degree in HVAC.

I installed HVAC for 3 years in new residential homes, but was laid off in '06 due to lack of work.
What I really want to do is HVAC service. I don't necessarily need to work for a union, but their
wages and benefits are unbelievable. Yeah, those apprenticeships are such a looong drawn out
process. I applied for this apprenticeship Jan. 4th, and just had my interview today.

I've been applying for every HVAC service job I can find. It's not going so well. :lol:

I'm with you though, if I can't find a job in HVAC in the next couple of months, I'll be looking for anything I can find.

Yeah, I've also got an A.S.S. degree in HVAC/R. I just finished school last year in 09.

I wouldn't mind doing residential installs, but I really don't want to do service on residential units and fix them when they're broke.

I'd realy like to get into the union through that apprentiship like your doing. But with the way the economy is it's gonna be almost impossible to get in. As long as they have workers laid off they won't bring in any new apprenticeses. And I have a feeling they are going to have laid off workers for a while.

Yeah, I really enjoyed installing. Ideally, I want to do commercial service, which is what the Pipefitters union does.
I'd rather not do residential service either. It seems like a lot of these residential service companies also want you
to be a high pressure salesman too, and that's just not me.

Yep. Haven't worked an HVAC job yet, but I did go to school for it for 2 years.

I kinda wish I would have went to school for CNC instead, that seems like it'd be a better career field for me. :shrug:


And even if I'm not looking for HVAC work, being able to write that I have an Associates Degree on job aplications always looks good. I'm sure that's one of the things they noticed on my job application that got me these interviews for this factory.

I will get a call within the next week to come in and take a drug test if I got the job.
