My feet stink all the time. How do I cure this?
    #12156205 -

I take daily showers and always clean my feet.  I wear usually wear socks while wearing my shoes.  I just recently bought a new pair of shoes thinking the smell was coming from my shoes, but it's not

Has anyone else had foot odor problems?  It really sucks because I swear I can smell my feet all of the time and I'm afraid other people can smell it to.  It's really embarrassing.  Anyone have success with any of the foot powders/sprays/creams?  This problem had been bothering me for at least 4 months now.  My feet don't itch and there are no visible symptoms to my condition.  It got to the point where I started taking showers twice a day just to try to help, but it never seems to work.

I'm nearly tempted to go see a doctor about this because it is slowly driving me crazy.

Please help

Bad trainers can make your feet sweat more than they should.

I have the same paranoi about my feet. And im sure 90% really is just paranoi. Because i walk alot, and i walk at a fast pace. My feet do sweat, and i can notice that my socks are a tad damp. then i start worrying that my feet smell.

I had the same paranoi when i thought i had a bladder infection or UTI and felt like i was slowly pissing myself. I coild swear i could smell piss and thoiught i smelled of piss.

talcolm powder works quite well to keep your feet dry. Thats what ive been doing recently and its really help keep my feet alot dryer than normal.

Also, baking soda is usually the main ingredient in producst used for dealing with foot oder, so yoiu can use that instead of buying more expensive stuff.

Good footwear that allows yoiur feet to breath will also help.

Cool.  Thanks.  I will try these solutions this week when I get paid.  Have you ever tried any of the over-the-counter medicines like lamicil or gold bond?

You can get Crystal deodorant which is effective on armpit BO as well as feet.  You can easily apply it to your feet post-shower and it won't mess up your socks / shoes.  I use crystal deodorant on my under-arms and during the summer I will use it on my feet as well.  Works 100% for me.

Pick some up at your local health food / natural products / co-op type store.  Or find some online.

Gold Bond medicated powder.

Anti-fungal medications if you haven't tried them yet.

You can also soak your feet in a 50/50 vinegar/water solution for a few days.

You can also get a pumice stone and work away some dead skin, that may help as well.

It's not at all abnormal to have some foot odor if you spend all day on your feet or wearing shoes that don't breathe well.  Expecting your feet not to stink is the equivalent of thinking you shouldn't have BO when you go without deodorant.

Some of the powders might help if it really bothers you.

exactly. Im on my feet all day. From about 2pm till 1am on my feet for most of that time.

Talcom powder relaly helped for me. Sometimes if i had been really active when i got home my socks would be damp. Now with just a coating of talcom powder on my feet after a wash, my socks just have a couple tiny patches.

Im gonna give my feet a good wash/soak as they really need it.

Ive also read about soaking feet in water and baking soda. Its also good for hard skin

Don't use any powder and medicated shit, that's not what you want.

Your feet stink because you wear socks and shoes all the time.  Your feet and always sweaty and damp and as a result microbes grow and smell there.

The first line of defense is GOING BAREFOOT!

Now in cold places in the winter, yes, you need shoes, but at home/work anywhere you can go barefoot.  It's much easier in the summer.

Next, as an anti-bacterial/fungal/viral component you need coconut oil.

Coconut oil is a natural anti-microbial compound which doubles as a moisturizer.  You will get nicer softer skin on your feet and it will kill microbes and fungus (gets rid of athletes foot in few days for me, I work at a pool so I know how to deal with this crap).  Eating coconut oil as a part of a daily diet will also help.

Also, throwing some baking soda in socks/shoes can also help.

Putting coconut oil on your feet at night will help a lot.  Along with letting you feet dry out barefoot you should improve your odor.

"A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.

This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.

Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."
