Also, I can't stress this enough don't discredit this person as harmless. Even when meeting with a friendly member of this site for a trade I was armed, always be careful meeting strangers. I must be honest with you...

Some years ago I met a lady on the website and it was AMAZING.
I actually met her at my first gathering (but we barely said 2 words to
each other then) and then we talked online  here for a couple months...
Eventually she flew some 700 miles or so out to me so we could really
visit.  It was all so romantic!

We both fell quite in love, but it ended badly for us... I knew deep down in
my casil heart that we were not right for each other.  It sucked because she
is a beautiful person, and i grew extremely attached and fond of her, and
vice versa.

It was painful when the truth finally came out, and I don't think she ever forgave
me for being honest.  Maybe she did, I don't even know.  How can a person
know another persons heart, except on trust?

It was painful.

HOWEVER! Don't be dismayed by my tale, as I know two wonderful people who
met here on the Shroomery also, and I was fortunate enough to be able to attend
their wedding, at a Gathering!

they are still happily married, 3 years now, if I remember correctly

To answer this question; their is no doubt in my mind, that my
life has been completely enriched by the people I've met in real life
(not that this isn't real ) from the Shroomery.

MANY good friends I have met, best friends I have been lucky enough
to be with some.

Their are many many good hearts from this site, and even people I didn't
think I would get along with, based on my expectation of them (from their
online persona's) always end up being really cool in person.

The internet is a mask, and the Shroomery is the coolest masquerade ball
out there.

I've met someone like that on here. A couple people. They really changed the way i've looked at my life. I don't think i'd be sober today if it weren't for some of the members who talked to me through my withdrawals.
I say, do what feels right, and have no regrets, perhaps meet in a public place first if you're scared.
If you live your life in fear, and never allow yourself to be vulnerable, to whatever situation. You wont grow nearly as much as you could. A good friend of mine told me that awhile ago.
It's pretty weird that you agree with him so much on everything. I don't know how i'd handle that.
