Braveheart
    #12066386 -

Near the end of the movie, William Wallace gets caught and imprisoned with no chance of escape. He has the option of a quick death if he recants and swears allegiance to the King of England or he can be disemboweled and drawn and quartered.

Seems to me there is a point to cut your losses. I would confess and go for the less painful route as he already gave his life for his countrymen.

Just as a reference, of the 190 Knights Templar captured and tortured by the King of France's Inquisitors, 172 confessed to crimes of heresy, including their leader. These were lifetime warriors and not a coward among them.

Willpower is a tricksy thing; you don't know you've got it until you try.

Side-note: The real William Wallace was a giant of about 6'6". They still have his sword in a museum. That blade weighs over forty pounds; only 1 in 10 million could wield a weapon like that.

The Blind Harry ballad about him makes it sound like he himself killed hundreds of people.

His legend (or 16th century e-penis) knew no bounds.

You would confess because you're a pussy who has no principles. Men of honor like William Wallace understand that a man is only as good as his word. Men with no honor cannot grasp this concept and think only of themselves. To understand a movie like Braveheart you need to understand concepts like loyalty, honesty, integrity etc. All the things that are lacking in western culture.

At least you completely disrefarded my relevant sidebar. According to your keen insight, the chivalrous knights of old are somehow honorless pussies and a product of western culture.
