Well,
I do believe it has been alleged that Bob Marley was a CIA agent meant to empower the people of Jamaica and the Caribbean, the whole world, really, to stand up and fight the power.  While this is, in essence, a good thing, the purpose of it was to really give the people unattainable goals of becoming a sovereign power.

Pushing the Rasta religion (the history of which is pretty interesting), inspiring violent revolution, etc...

I don't really know of many facts in this theory, it's just I've heard some things, unsubstantiated, that piqued my interest.  Naturally because it's Bob Marley.

I've got half of a conspiracy theory mind as it is, so whatevs.

and bob and the CIA had a relationship: an adversarial one. the white government in Jamaica was firmly in the USA's pocket and intensely disliked that the Rastas, who had long been a thorn in their side, now had begun to receive international fame and admiration.

black, revolutionary, and popular has never been a good combination unless you want to be a martyr.

No, no reads.  Just google it and pick one.

Word of mouth is where I've gotten most of my info re. Bob.  Otherwise, it comes from my head and putting the puzzle together.
