Amsterdam!

Hi!

I'm off to Amsterdam for a weekend in mid January with a group of friends.

Any of you guys been lately?

What's the situation drugs-wise? I know things aren't quite as liberal as they once were...

Any suggestions on things to see/do other than the major tourist hot spot things?

You'll find any drug you like in Amsterdam, the best parties, the coolest Dutch guys and the hottest hookers.

Besides that not being in effect,there are so many nationalities living there.how would they know you're a tourist?

Besides,if that was ever to happen,the people working in the coffee shops wouldn't give two flutes.

The owners are hardly going to encourage their employees to not take peoples money.:lol:

I've been there twice in the past couple years, just like Jimtown said, there's a lot of people trying to sell you hard drugs on the street, don't buy anything from them, they'll rip you off for sure.

Make sure you visit, dampkring (my favourite coffeshop)
You should visit Vondelpark too, its rly quiet and a perfect place for a trip, with some luck you can even find some nice mushrooms there...

Oh I thought that mushroom and w££d had been 'banned' there now, or at least was not legally available for sale like it was in previous years. Interesting!

Dampkring, thanks. I was wondering what were some good coffee shops to visit, I just wanna head some places with a pretty chilled vibe. I think a couple of the guys want to do the more touristy stuff so might have to find a way to merge the too. I quite like the idea of tripping out and visiting some amazing galleries, though not sure about hitting the Ann Frank museum, might sorta kill the vibe of the weekend (call me ignorant, i'll understand).

I'm not really even bothered about the sex shops/prostitutes thing, just looking for a good weekend with some good friends.

There seems to be no shortage of cocaine so if your into stimulants, you're certainly sorted out in that department.

With regards to psychedelics, things might prove to be a little harder. Since the classification of shrooms, it ain't been easy trying to find them. Many shops still sell them from under the counter but the employees are very reluctant to sell to tourists for obvious reasons.

There always seems to be good acid floating around Amsterdam but you really to find the right people to help you out. I kept my fingers crossed that I would source some the last time I was there but I came away empty handed.

I thought that not all shrooms had been banned? AFAIK, you can still get truffles/philosopher's stones.

- Truffles are still legal due to the administration fucking up their 'forbidden species' list :laugh:
- Weed is still in the same legal position as it was 20 years ago: you can buy small amounts, no problem
- No legislation specifically aimed at prohibiting foreigners purchasing pot has been passed, or even proposed in any mature form
- Virtually anything can be bought on the streets, but the odds of getting ripped are very realistic

So can you still buy weed in coffee shops with the small amounts thing? A couple of the guys i'm going with are quite straight laced.

Great news about the truffles! Have never tried. Quite like the idea of a medium dose and roaming some amazing galleries. Like Generix said, it would be amazing to pick up some great lucy though!

Where else do people like to hang out in Amsterdam? Just looking for chill types.
