Looks just like the mycelium breaking through the vermiculite in jars....Looks healthy to me.

notice the whitish verm on the second photo in the right! it is like very very thin mycelium. it looks cobwebish to me

That's just straight vermiculite on the top right? The pictures are a little blurry......If it's straight verm. the mycelium will be wispy, because it's not colonizing, just reacting to the humidity given off by the wet verm. Kind of like what happens to a cake if the humidity is too high, it gets that fuzzy growth around the base of the shroom....

At least that's my theory.

I'd wait, let it break through a little more, that way you get an even pin set...

i agree that most of the pics look healthy, but the 2nd pic down looks a little grey on the right - that's the spot i'd watch most carefully. pure vermiculite casings are hard to spot the difference on, not enough contrast. i recommend coir / oyster as the best casing layer i've tried.

if it IS cobweb, a spray with water/H2O2 often polishes it off in its infancy, and won't do it any harm.

i'd recommend patch-casing those first breakthrough spots (a little more moist casing in a thin layer over the white bits) so that it all comes up at the same time: the more pins you can get in your first flush, the greater your total yield will be. also, unless you're growing a really vigorous strain like puerto ricans, let it go 'mostly white' before you induce pinning with the light/air/humidity/lower temps.

good luck!

I agree with killerclown, let it peak through a little more before birth.

How does South American rate for being vigorous? Do you happen to know? If so that would be a great help for determining when I shoul induce pinning on these...
