Summation of Creationist 'Thought'
    #11589177 -

We have zero proof for our beliefs so instead of presenting any data to support our POV we will attack scientific theories with the only tools we have:

The argument from ignorance and The argument from incredulity.

That's it folks. Behind walls of text there lies absolutely nothing.

Tell me about it!

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

They usually tell me that it's something you have to discover on your own and that you're not supposed not speak to anybody else about it. :nut:

Belief might be based on the hope to reach or achieve a mental state reached or achieved by another fellow human being but in our own way to and for ourself. I see nothing wrong with anticipating an achievement based upon observation and inspired by someone else's realisation. If belief is formulated in this way then i find it a valid argument for personal development.

All of the attacks I've heard are totally invalid though.

My favorite is the one used most often, "it's only a theory" as if this somehow invalidates the concept.

though, it really is just a theory, a loose one at that. it is simply more of a theory than what creationists propose. it is not as strong a theory as most others that we use day to day

Every theory deserves a debate. Nothing is science is concrete it is just what we have taken from observation of previous events. This can change at any moment. Evolution deserves to be debated as any other theory because it prob does not provided a strong explanation in EVERY circumstance. The attacks on it just need to be better thought out and reasoned than the evolutionary theory. When someone has formulated a well thought out rebuttal to evolution is when a serious discussion should begin. But untill then im going to laugh and have fun with those silly creationist.

Perhaps you dont understand what it takes for a hypothesis to become a theory.

It is by no means a loose theory.

atheist's never accept the science we present no matter how solid it is

I'm frankly tired of debating the facts with people who are incapable of critical examination

its all about what they believe

each fact presented is met with ad hominem, distractionary tactics

sometimes the use of blatantly false facts

they then of course claim you are doing exactly what they are in fact doing

it gets tiring after a while

I'll give you a video

which goes in depth into the archeological evidence backing the account from the bible

its like an hour an half and I've done research into some of these individual finds and they are real

the video is a lecture with pictures of a lot of this stuff and various details

if you ignore this or attempt to bait me into anger or shift the topic then this discussion is over

just to let you know up front:

I really don't think debate can get anywhere...

you can weaken evolution but it will still stand ahead of other theories people put forward.

debate can't really get anywhere. There is only one objectively plausible theory so far, and that is evolution through natural selection.

Okay I watched some of that video, but I could no longer waste my time with it as none of it was proof of anything other than some of the historical records written in the bible may be true.

It doesn't even address the issue of there not being any proof of Israelites in Egypt does it?

Congratulations.

1.7 million species on earth, scattered throughout the globe and traits have more often than not geographical significance.

The story of noahs ark is literally impossible.

Please look into convergent evolution and look at the differences and similarities between the indigenous wildlife in Australia and the rest of the world.

Creationists believe the universe is less than 10 thousand years old.

Our galactic center is 24,788.5 light years away and yet the light reaches earth, galaxy Abell 1835 is 13.2 billion light years away and guess what?

We have seen it's light.

I could go on and on and on but I'm much to apathetic to write you an essay much less a paper on the subject.

If you cared enough you could find it yourself.
