"three times a day"  Was nothing compared to me.  AND im a chick.  How :homo:  do you feel now? lol.

Also, I lost my addiction when I filled my soul with something more worthwhile.  I NEVER feel the need to watch porn now.  In fact, and don't take me wrong, But I think it's pretty dumb.

lol @ cinemax, yeah, when I was 12.    Hustler and perfect 10 and...what's the name of the young one....the classy one....funny I can't remember, that was my fav.  mag.  As far as websites went, anything with bdsm and rape was generally my flavor of all time.  As long as it looked real, I couldn't stand that fake crap.  I preferred no make up unless it was smeared lipstick and running mascara.  Red ropes and candle wax please.  OH and blood....lots of blood...and vampires....and slapping....lol need I continue?

That clear anything up for you?
I was way more into it than my husband or most guys I know.  Even my Brother in law who is  a complete perv was shocked when he learned who I REALLY was.  a complete freak.  I loved it and I wasn't ashamed. lol. Deliverance is a wonderful thing.  Now I don't care how hot the female is, if she is like I was, it grosses me out.  Which used to only happen with bull-dikes.  Everyone was after me. lol.

i'm right there w/ you addicts. It certainly is a means of time wasting. It began as curiosity years and years ago. Then, the curiosity mixed with the ease and availability of material on the internet. Problem is, the web is just getting filled with more and more free content. Moving on to soft core/ non porn content won't help. Since you have a strong compulsion bordering on addiction, the new content will simply increase your interests, and you'll move on to that for a while.
Its hell really. Absolute hell. I can sit here and type this and not be horny what so ever, but if I were to open up another tab with porn or attractive women(or anything that turns me on) and forget all about this post, and start lurking the internet.
Another anon mentioned the neural pathways that are opened up, and now have recorded the information. He's right, its different to drug addiction. Its worse. The images are stuck. And they are very easy to trigger. I think, if allowed to go unchecked, can lead to some SERIOUS problems.

Consider my position....
I moved to another country just over 3 months ago. I haven't been able to work legally for the first 90 days. My wife would go off to work, and I would be left here in the apartment. I could make a choice...look at porn or not look at porn.
even after getting a work permit, during online job searches and CV/resume work, I get distracted and go the porn or message board route. Problem is, I would say that my productive life is far out-weighed by my unproductive life. I ask myself...how could I possibly think of sex when I have so many really important matters to take care of?!?! Especially when financially unstable and out of work.  Its selfishness to the absolute max! Its an addiction, and difficult to consciously control. Those who aren't in this position have no idea how it feels, and will probably say some insensitive shit.
No matter.  What I wouldn't mind is someone to pick apart my post and tell me where it seems I am going wrong.

I'm married too. There is absolutely nothing (seemingly) wrong w/ our sex life, but I'm sure we could be having sex way more than we currently are. Thing is, I'm as attracted to my wife as ever, and enjoy our sexual encounters immensely. But the problem is, I'm also attracted to the women on the computer screen and the outside world almost equally. Also, if you happen to develop a fetish (or mere sexual compulsion) of any sort, which I have, you are bound to be fulfilled adequately by the internet, but not by your partner alone. So, sorry to hijack your thread, but I am well aware that I have problems too. I'm 28, and have been developing this problem for years now. Its far worse than ever. I'm sure my sexual interests are developing in an unhealthy manner too.
To be honest. I don't believe anything rational or psychoanalytic will necessarily help. I often think about my past and have explored my early sexual introductions all the way up to my teen years and after. I can see rationally why I am going through this. Thats not the problem. Its the remedy that I'm looking for.
I think it may be time to adhere to a strict religious and even dogmatic approach to life. this is where dogmatism begins(in some form or another). But I have to also be able to break free from dogmatic thinking. I don't know. But all I do know is that my compulsions and this post needs to end.
Anyway, enough for now.

No need to pick apart your post.  All you have to do is replace your "yes" with a "no" from now on.  Thats all it takes, anything else is just you making excuses.

but, but..but. No really, you are absolutely right anon15. It is really THAT easy. I'll do the best I can.
I also won't be fooled by the thought that it is simply pointless time killing or just a quick glimpse. There is no such thing for me. It inevitably turns into more. Thanks for taking my post seriously.
I think that this 'problem' is often not taken seriously. Thats what got me into this mess in the first place. Who would have thought that a seemingly benign desire combined with timing and circumstance would lead to an actual addiction.
My problem with the title of this thread being 'no porn for a month' indicates a possible return to it. I hope OP can stay away from it. But it also means staying away from sexual thoughts. This is what I was/have been struggling with.
What I really desire is to not see the world through the eyes and mind that I currently possess.(in the sexual sense)
Its really time for a change.

Just direct all your sexual energy to your wife, and you'll be fine.

Think about doing all kinds of kinky shit with her. Maybe even make your own porn with her, then you won't have to watch anything else.

I see the addictiveness with porn in the same way I do with drugs.  They both affect your mind and body in negative ways, but are perhaps unnecessary (for some) to completely avoid.  For this reason, I'm a weekend drug user and look at porn once a week at most.

Anon 17: Try getting your partner to get off to porn WITH you.  If you do this, then it will probably change the way you look at your partner.  Having the association of your partner with your developed sexual intricacies could go a long way.

It doesn't work like that.  Demand outstrips supply if left unchecked.

MAKE SURE YOU TELL HER WHEN YOU WATCH IT OR SHE MIGHT GET MAD AND ACCUSE YOU OF BETRAYING HER

What is this, sexual ADD? When I'm fucking a girl regularly I have no problem associating her with my "sexual intricacies".

If anyone does then they're probably gay or have some fucked up fetish.

thing is, even I don't have a real interest in porn when I watch it with her. Its as if all of a sudden the scene isn't erotic at all. Even lesbians for crying out loud!
See, when we watch porn, the willing suspension of disbelief is fully intact. ie, when we are horny as shit on our own, the blinders are on, and we are wearing rose-tinted glasses. without that suspension of disbelief, porn is almost embarrassing to look at.
Actually, I suppose, that the thing that I am most interested in looking at on the internet and the real world is also under the guise of 'suspension of disbelief'.
But its not 'willing'. Its become subconscious. It became subconscious through the hours, days, weeks, and months of repeated exposure to these thoughts and perversions(at least what I would consider to be perverse).
I basically need to recondition my mind.

Its not simply about getting into kinky shit either. That solves nothing.
I am not complaining about the sex that I have. The sex I have with my wife is the purest experience I've ever had with a woman. When you are married, you will understand that. adding kinky stuff is merely succumbing to the tendencies that I want to overcome. I have not resigned to the fact that 'its just me' or 'thats just the way I am and what I'm interested in'. That can play a part, but thats not what sex is really about. It has to be mutual. And if these are interests that I've developed over lots of time without her, then its not a mutual interest.
Sex is about fantasy and exploration. thats whats most exciting about sex. And as we all know, when it comes to acting out fantasies, its never quite what it was cracked up to be.
I have a feeling that a lot of what I'm going through is way over the heads of most of the younger people in here. But thats ok, because in SA we are mainly talking to ourselves and working out our own problems.

well #17 im over 20 days in now.  Aside from the one time watching it with my girlfriend right near the start I have not watched anything.  Not going to lie tho, I still want to, but its not as bad as it was.

Once the month is up I am not sure what to do.  Part of me just wants to stop outright.  I know once I start watching it, it will become a habit again quickly.

I have been using literotica, and if anything I can come faster with that.  I have gotten good at using my imagination, and the girls in my mind do exactly what I want them to.  I don't have to spend 20 minutes finding a video that fits my needs.

As to how turned on my girlfriend makes me... at this point I don't think porn really factors in much.  I am a horny son of a bitch, whether shes the only naked woman I am looking at or not.

Chances are, I am going home for winter break soon, so I won't be seeing my girlfriend for a month = I will end up watching porn.  Better I use that then end up cheating.

This sounds like the problem.  You have a strict view of sex that you keep in your head.  Why do you force yourself to become close-minded about sex?  Sex shouldn't be forcibly "pure."  Be honest about your fantasies with her and her with you.  Have fun.

Literotica.com is awesome.  The best porn comes from the imagination. If there was a Reading Rainbow for adults, Lavar Burton would recommend this at the end of every show.

I think you are misinterpreting me to an extent...hmm, what do i mean by pure? I'm not talking missionary pure. I mean pure in a passionate sense, regardless of what activities are going on. Don't really know how to explain in words actually. I certainly don't have any strict views in my head regarding sex. Can you explain how it seems that I have become closed minded about sex? I think if anything, I've opened my mind tremendously over the years. Think you got me wrong on this one. There's nothing being forced in my head during sex.
