The casino was hot and I was sweating bullets. (like the picture shows ) Won several $2000 dollar bets. Wasn't smart, but it was an experience and I enjoyed it. Gambling is fun.

if you run your life by statistical data you will ALWAYS be at the top, it reminds me of this online poker champion who used a computer to deduct all the possibilities before he made his move, he won several thousand dollars and then went to a real tournament where he learned to memorize most of what the computer did and won a million dollars, I saw it on Daily Planet a show here in Canada from Discovery channel
lol I kind of just self-pwned myself right there but fact is none of us is gonna learn how to become a program wiz and learn all the mathematical intricacies of probability for poker unless we're some kind of genius
or we study like crazy but none of us is gonna do that

Come on guys, not everyone who gambles is desperate and stupid. Every year millions of normal people go to Vegas, drop a few hundred bucks and have a great time anyway.
If by normal you mean unimaginative tourists with nothing better to do then yeah, I guess they are normal. The machines practically have a sign on them that says "please flush your money down this toilet".
Stereotyping a little here but its probably the same kind of ppl who go to the cinema every weekend to watch popcorn flicks cuz they dont really know how to have fun.
Quite the soapbox you have there. What do you spend your recreation money on?

That was the hotel at the casino. Diamond Jack's. I also played at the horseshoe.
People win all the time in Casinos. Why is that so hard to believe?

no one disbelieves that, you forgot to mentioned that ppl loose all the time too more so than they win
if any of you believes you have such great chances of winning why arent you at a casino right now?

I don't think the odds are in my favor, but they're definitely not so out of balance that you can't walk away a winner. I don't expect you to understand, gambling isn't for everyone. Besides, I make more at work.
I'm not gambling with my livelyhood.

First of all, I know all about gambling, I put myself through grad school as a winning poker player (pretty small-time but winning over 100,000+ hands, all logged by the computer so no deluding myself). I also have a bachelor's in math. So now that you know how super-great I am, here's my random thoughts:
I can't believe no one's mentioned free drinks yet! Go with friends, play the penny slots or $5 blackjack, $1 tip/drink, and it's cheaper than half the bars out there. This is assuming a real casino, not some burnt-rubber-smelling dive in Gary Indiana where you pay for drinks.
Going once in a while you can totally write it off as entertainment expenses. Your expected loss at low-limit blackjack is really only a coupla dollars an hour, and if you go with 4 people, one of you is walking home up $300 and hopefully buying blow for everyone.
There *are* bets out there which favor the player, but they are few and far between. Poker and horse/sports-betting are beatable, because the house doesn't care if you win/lose, they get a cut either way. The beautiful thing is that 90% of the people who think they're winners are really losers with a bit of luck. But try convincing them of that fact. Occasionally there are promotions (free chips, bonus points, whatever) that turn losing bets into winning bets. Systems which do *not* work include: blackjack (all, unless you're a team from MIT with wireless computers in your shoes), doubling your bets until you win, roulette (all, unless you have a laser transmitting data to a computer), looking for "hot" slots, and generally any time you can't prove mathematically that you're a winner.
Although I love casinos very occasionally, especially with free booze, I agree they are, on the whole, ravenous beasts that prey on the basest forms of human weakness. Cheers!
P.S. Lots of hot bitches.

I went to a casino once, lost $20 on slot machines. It can be a fun experience, but if your losing money it's hard to not sit there and think of how you could have better spent that money. Winning is great though, i'm sure. And yeah, from my limited experience slot machines are kinda evil. Sounds like you have better chances with cards if you know what your doing, but I was too intimidated to try any of those tables. It's really not that stupid though, some people like a rush, be it from drugs, intense physical activity, or the possibility or winning large amounts of money... to each their own.

gambling is about the emotional rush... hopefully people do it for fun, since unless you're not playing against the house, you're always going to lose. (or loose if you prefer)

Like in the Wonderful story of Henry Sugar.
I've won big in the casinos on occasion (big relative to my bankroll) so sure it happens.
That was on blackjack
But i'm definitely down overall.
I quit gambling and casinos after a friend told me this little curiosity:
the roulette wheel: add all the numbers up (1+2+3 etc all the way to 36) and you get 666
im not a religious nut or anything but my conclusion was this: fuck that
happy gambling

One time me and 3 friends went to shreveport to apply for a job building a new casino, and after we turned in our apps, one friend says "Lets go to the casnio for a bit" and were like? ?? And he said "I'll give each of your $20 and you spend it how you like. If you win at least $80, walk away and come back to the car. If you lost it all, come back to the car. Who ever wins most, has to pay me back for everyone, then the rest of the amount won is split evenly between the four of us and one of you has to buy me lunch, and the other pays for the gas we spent today....
needless to say, this guy loved meth. I mean, with those kinds of ideas...
Anyway, we all come back out of the casino... I got up to $40, but lost back down to $30, and I walked, thinking at least I made $10..
So, we all get back to the car, and one guy won $200 on black jack, one guy lost everything, and the other guy Won $60..
So after we ran his math, we all ended up with more money than we all came with... But, after lunch and gas, dude was like...
"Lets put all our money together and buy a QP,"
So, we did, then we split it for ways, and I sold 3 quarters out of my sack to some friends....
At the end of the day I had $100 in my pocket, and I started out the day with $20.....
I hung around that dude quite often to learn the tricks of hustling... But I also learned a lot about the dark side of the game that is less glamorous....

i think that at least 4 of the $50 will be straight up martingale strategies, where i parlay and double my bets till they hit $360 (winning 1:1 bets 6 times in a row) and ill split the bets up over 4 different games.
craps field bet craps line bet black jack roulette (betting red)
4 of the other $50 bundles will be long shot bets.
one will be repeatedly betting 3 different numbers on the roulette wheel another will be betting on the craps table. betting 7's turning with a horn bet, and parlaying them till they pay $150
10 $5 bets on a high limit slot machine till it pays out over $100
All hard ways bet on the craps table $30 on the 6 and 8 $20 on the 4 and 10
so lets see here, thats a total of $400 blown... $600 to go

i think with the other $300, im just going to play craps, take odds on the points, and bet the 6 and 8, mo more than $50 in action coming out of my stack and going to the table, but ill parlay some or all of any winnings i get, muah ha ha. this'll be fun.
