think im going to make an ambient/guitar album

i realized a lot of my solo recordings actually sound really good.  i may not be able to sing but i think some nice things can be done with just a guitar and my amp with all its effects and shit.  the only other musician i know plays drums, but we get too focused on energy that it isn't always chill to listen to and we've never mapped out any songs.  so i think solo is the way to go for me at the moment


im just making this post as a means of encouraging myself to do this.  Short catchy/heavy/ambient/trippy  songs  with a lot of reverb  :thumbup:    im gonna spend sometime with my guitar/recorder  and if i come up with anything interesting  ill try to  post something  later

thnks, i hve a lot of randm recordings but nothing online right now...  and none of my recordings are official, jst a lot of ideas and jams..

sounds cool
will listen to sound clips when you post them!

also use a drummer for laying down a rhythm track first. maybe let him pley by himself and tell him to take it easy:)

you're right, i think i need some kind of drum tracks.  i realized this when i was playing last night, especially since i don t thnk i can sing  and i cant find the plug for my  guitar pedal which has a metronome too

i have the benefit of garageband, so i think some good things can be done with that... whether its drum layering or electronic beats,  and even  layered guitars. not sure how ill do all this ,  but it should b fun to figure out  :leaf:

Thats awsome dude...i would also like to make an ambient/guitar album! I love playing bluesy/jazzy/ambient stuff...


YeAH as for the effects i also LOVE reverb, sounds so roomy (totally ambient-esq)..

So did you ever check out that MAD PROFESSOR DEEP BLUE DELAY??? That killer pedal i put in your last post about effects pedals..

I used that and a Boss phase shifter, REAL MCCOY CUSTOM wah (AMAZING!!!!!!), FULLTONE '69 overdrive, and a KEELEY modded boss distortion pedal...

What effects are you using?

not yet man,  but i gotta hit up my guitar store cause they messed up fixing up the gibson,  i realized the guitar had a weird sound for a long time and it turns out they put one of the pieces on backwards- the piece near the knobs that holds the strings together.    im gonna make a note to check out the mad professor deep blue delay and all the other pedals you mention!  sounds like good pieces of equipment ....

right now my only effects are  from my Line 6 amp-  reverb, echo, ping-pong (when it fits), delay can get some trippy effects too, ill also mess with th guitar sounds the amp has sometimes  and thats about it- in addition to whatever im playing on th guitar.  i lost the power adapter for my shtty guitar pedal/metronome piece  so that kind of sux,  got some cool beats with that but im gonna have to upgrade regardless    :scrambled:

yo skatealex what kind of a line6 do ya got. i love my line6 pod xe live its got all the affects I'll ever use.
the delays are sic,total crazy stereo.great for recordings and live performances.:thumbup:

i have one that looks exactly like this...  my pedal broke a while ago, but  i mite just replce th line 6 pedal  - it had some good features like th wah pedal  and you can preset th settings and  sht

the pedal are the shit!
Ive used digitech, koorg,and i really love the line6, the factory settings are  great ,but you customize it anyway you want  to , plus they give you all the monkey programs to go with it ,and I'm direct into sonar so i get all these  great stereo sounds , keep on rockin !!!!
