A lot of the time I look in the replies column of a thread and it shows say, 50 (12).
50 replies and 12 of them are unread.
But it is hardly ever right. I go to a thread I've never viewed and hit the 'jump to first unread' and it takes me to a place in the thread I have not been. Sometimes I will log on and it would seem that I have read half of the posts in a thread that was written while I was offline.
Is this a bug or what?
I'm not tinfoil hat paranoid or anything but I know I'm not reading these posts so why does it show up as if I had?

Unfortunately there are known issues with post tracking, especially if you access the site from multiple computers. I know what the problem is, but it's not easy to fix without introducing a lot of overhead so it may have to wait until our next round of hardware upgrades. You could also try going to http://www.shroomery.org/forums/fixcookies.php and logging in again, that would rule out any cookie-related problems. But I don't think it's likely that someone is using your account. If you're concerned you should change your password, make sure it's not saved in your browser, and click 'log out' whenever you're finished on the site.

Thank you for your reply. I do only use one computer but will try the advice that you gave me.
this is a great site to be addicted to although my previous porn site addictions are a little jealous. :smile: JK

Thank you for posting this. I was reading around cult for the fun of it and am apparently behind on meds today. Saw some posts that were read, and new threads dropped me down a few posts... got a little worried. You never know, right?

Well, after reading this post, the SWAT team left and I don't hear the helicopters or see chemtrails anymore. I really appreciate it.

Distopia, I have found that the extra strength tin foil underneath my regular tin foil hat added with aluminum cans will take care of this problem. I appreciate the fact that you can understand me.
I have been 'cheeking' my meds for days now so if you need extra; come to my room after they make the six o clock rounds.
Please watch out for the other ones though. I'm not sure that they understand.
