cooked opium from dried pods?
    #11411470 -

you guys ever hear of this tek?
I'd post it up, but i have to get permission first...i'll work on that over the next few days.

works great, and requires minimal chemistry skills....by that i mean, you could just follow the tek without any background in chemistry.

with this tek, you'll never want to drink pod tea again. :yesnod:

Ah, that explains it.  Typical know-it-all noob.  We get a few thousand just like you register here every year.  They try a few grows, fail miserably and then after a few months or one bad trip, go back to sniffing glue, never to be seen again.

We have a basic pf tek that's idiot proof enough for noobs to get fucked up with their friends.

Mycologists on the other hand grow for the love of growing.  They want to experiment with various species, substrates, and fruiting environments. They'll move on to isolate strains, attempt hybridization, and in general treat cultivation as an artform, rather than a chore that must be performed as a means to an end.  They'll work twice as hard for a ten percent gain, just for the love of perfection.  These are the ones who will isolate strains, not the dumb fucks who treat mushrooms as a drug, or even worse, a pathogen, as if mushrooms cause disease.

1. Grind the poppy pods into a fine powder.

2. Mix the alcohol and poppy powder in a bowl, Swim uses a ratio of 10ml per gram of material, so for 20 grams you would use 200ml.

3. Bring some water to a rolling boil. Then pour it into a bowl and let the water sit for 3 minutes. Swim does this because it lets the water cool to less than 176 F, the point at which opiate alkaloids are destroyed. Swim has tested this with a candy thermometer and 3 minutes cools the tempature to about 160F. Swim does this because alkaloids are more soluble in alcohol when the tempature is higher.

4. put the bowl with the isopropanol alcohol in it into the pot with the water. Swim likes to use a pot that can float in the hot water. the bowl with the alcohol will heat up and aid the extraction of the alkaloids.

5. Let the alcohol filled bowl sit in the hot water for 2 hours, then boil some more water and do step 4 again, but this time let it sit for only 15 minutes. the alcohol will be green at this point, dont worry, its normal.

6. Filter the alchohol through a metal strainer or cheesecloth to get the majority of the pod material. the alcohol should still be warm at this point.

7. Then Filter the alchohol through a coffee filter.

8. Evaporate the alcohol and enjoy. Even though the alcohol is green before evaporation, it dries to a dark amber/dark yellow/light brown colour.

Swim gets about .5g of "opium" from 20 grams of good quailty poppy pods, in comparison 10g of the same pods in tea would get swim nicely toasted.

the "opium" obtained from this method smokes and tastes just like the real opium swim has seen; completely vaporising and leaving minimal residue. It even has that same flowery taste real opium has, but only when burned. Swims "opium" has a very light smell before combusted, unlike the strong smell of latex based opium.

does anyone have any experiences with this, what do you think?

thanks
Trichopium

shit if that's an average amount to get from 20 grams... you could buy a kilo for around 50, get ~25 grams of oppy and then flip 50 buck to 250... poppy tea sounds alot more interesting now to my broke ass

Heres my 'tek'

*There will be no details regarding measurements, you should be able to figure that one out on your own. :stoned:

[1] Ground up pods are simmered or on a "low boil" in water for 30 mins / repeat step twice and combine liquids.

[2] Filter twice through funnel/cotton. Let sit for at least 1 hr then decant. Repeat until nothing settles. (If your not concerned with purity, you may just filter through funnel setup)

[3] Add liquid to stainless steel pot to simmer and reduce to syrupy consistency. Once the liquid starts to resemble molasses, remove from heat.

:NOTE: If you desire a "putty" then you are now finished, just transfer the putty to the outside of a durable zip-lock bag, not the inside, and fold over. If you would prefer a smokable powder, proceed to the next steps.

[4] Use spoon or spatchula to transfer "putty" to a pyrex dish and place in oven on lowest setting, leave door open and place a fan nearby if desired. (I skip using heat at this stage and just let the putty evaporate on its own)

[5] Putty will change from a gooey sludge to a crust that you can then scrape up into a powder.

* You may stop here, although if you desire purity heres how *

[6] Perform a de-fat using ethanol. Add 'powder' to vial, cover with ethanol at least 3 times the volume. Shake vigorously for 1 minute, let sediments settle.

[7] Use pipette or pour off top brown/amber liquid, save and reuse if desired.

[8] Lay out powder to dry then repeat process until desired purity is reached.
