how to fruit this bottle of substrate

This is my 1st attempt at growing cubensis and i have a bottle of substrate that i want to fruit. I have some questions:



1. Can i fruit it in the bottle (and take off the lid)?
2. Or do i need to change the container?
3. Does it need more air exchange?
2. Do i need to do anything to start the fruiting process eg. adjust the temp?

RR's videos answer all the basic questions. search key words that pertain to your questions. the information you want is out there. you dont even have to ask. search and decide.

not sure - its some type of grain, the jar is 750ml.

will not grow out the top if i leave the lid open?

It can, your going to want to wrap the sides so light can't get through so you don't have side pinning (or at least decrease the chances). you'll want to pour some water in it to re-hydrate it. I'm not sure if you would want to add some hydrogen peroxide to the water but in my be beneficial since your fruiting it our of a jar. you should case the top bit with normal 50/50 but add some poo or brow rice flour to it to give it a bit of food. I know your not normally spose to do that but who cares.

Actually you can fruit grains directly and you can fruit right out of a jar. It's called "In vitro" or "invitro" fruiting and yes, there's a lot of reading you can do.

There are a few pics of a few great grows, it certainly can be done this way. But you'll probably be happier if you spawn it to a bulk substrate, or at least case it in a tray.

break the jar without hurting the mycelium,

spawn to pasturized coir/coffee/vermiculite tray, colonize,case, fruit.

I always use a sterile butter knife, always breaks up the substrate nice.

bust up the sub, pour it out in to trays, and fruit. That would be the easiest way after invitro.
