Quick PF Tek question

I don't have a PC so I'm going to steam sterilize my half pint jars. I have four holes poked through the lid, and plan on putting mycropore tape over the holes. Now can I safely tighten the lid on the jars and place them in the pot when steaming them? Or do I still need to keep the lids on loose? Tin foil will be placed over the tops to keep water out, but I'm wondering if the mycropore tape will be enough to prevent a vacuum in the jars and keep them from cracking.

I just foil my lids for PC'ing, no need for micropore tape at all. Also I tighten my lids right down rubber side down. have done the PF tek many many many many times like this with no problemo. Just let the jars cool down in the PC overnight.

I say pretty tight just a lil loose.  Just follow RR's video instructions to the "T" and it will be all good.
