What is the point of talking if there is no goal or purpose behind your words? I like your humor, but why do you refuse to make any points or do you honestly beieve life is pointless? Why not give it a point yourself?

I don't make points? Wasn't aware of that.

I do believe life is pointless as the human equates value.

I do give it a point and the point is to challenge all true believers to put up or shut up. Among other things, like suporting those who are working on the psychological issues I am.

Isn't it AMAZING how nobody is discussing the topic ?

@Chronic

I start getting depressed when im bored.
I could try to muse myself with activities like yourself but that would bore me as well , and i dont mean that in a bad way.

for example..
its starting to get cold.
i live in illinois and winters get crazy.

it just depresses me..
no sun.
days dont last that long.
its so cold that the only activity i can have with other humans is sitting inside a house , since i dont really like going to bars that much.

Also.. i get very depressed if a female leaves me , which happened to me only twice.
The thing is.. i know that its my hurt ego , hurting... and then i start saying that to myself.
hey... its not you, this is all bullshit .. why would you restrict your love to only one person anyway ?
why would you want that person if that person doesn't want you anymore ?
how is that love ?
thats prison !
well.. these kind of thoughts start fighting with each other...
and the mental dialogue can be so strong sometimes that i end up depressed and miserable , because i cannot function at all from all the internal chit chat.
this goes on until i get bored with it , and in no time i am out of the depression again.

to an extent , it is necessary for learning certain lessons , but it seems to me, for the majority of people .. that depression.. MUST be a state we wish to find ourselves in.
it cannot exist without our will  to feel that way.
its  like , sometimes.. we just want to be sad ?

or maybe the mind simply goes into numbness mode as a result of emotional trauma ?
cant hurt me anymore ! .. that kinda thing.

nehow.. the bigger depressions ive run into , i have overcome by learning what they were useful for.
you come to a realization why it was necessary , if it was at all
from that i carry on with a smile and the more this happens , the less it is necessary to experience these negative emotions , for you can take the lesson in without wasting too much time on it.

as for the small time stuff...
there really isnt a damn thing i can do about the winter coming.
its just pisses me off..

i very much admire your ability to maintain the type of attitude which you do , and overall your way of going about life.
.. the trick is to grab , but not hold onto.
dunk the ball.. but dont swing on the rim like a monkey.
you want it ?
get it .. taste it .. love it..
and then let it go.

and.. if it runs away when you try to grab.. dont chase..
it might come back..
but if it doesnt..
let it go.

but... nothing.. will make me not get pissed about the winter coming.
nothing..

its the sun i tell ya...
if i cant see it..
im not right...
and im not about to learn  how  to appreciate the dull gray sky

:waits:

Ironically I much prefer the weather when it's dark, gloomy, and gray.  Makes me feel alive... :crazy2:

Illinois is a boring place for sure. I grew up in Michigan and that could surely be dull gray and boring at times. But what was really boring me in the midwest was the culture of the bible belt. I finally ran away.

How I dealt with it is that I continued living. There's no mystery really. Some of us survive and some don't. And some survivors like to make up pretty or rational explanations about why they survive.

I agree. I have had low grade depression my whole life starting with a fucked up shitty abusive home life. You survive if you can and make the best of things. I've had some amazing and great times in my life. But the truth is I don't prefer this type of existence.

We're far away from the OP now...

Chronic777: I think you need to take all this for a test run. Have you ever suffered deeply? Hated someone or wanted to kill them? Been overwhelmed by feelings? Stricken down? Taken care of sick, dying, etc, etc. All the transcendental sainthood stuff Markosthegnostic often talks about?

I've been depressed many times, for long and short times, over my entire life. How I dealt with it is that I continued living. There's no mystery really. Some of us survive and some don't. And some survivors like to make up pretty or rational explanations about why they survive.

well said.

Btw, I'm sure your upbringing was fucked up  ... but as far as I can see from experience, statistics and sociological reports nearly all Americans grow up truly in unloving, fucked up, half the time physically/most of the time verbally violent households.

Yeah, it's wicked bad over here.:hellfire:

I am depressed from time to time. Mostly when i get overly worried or stressed. But with some good sleep and rest it always becomes better again.
