Black music in the united states and the rap conspiracy
    #11317476 -

i've heard alot of claims from alot of people even some famous people that rap music is a conspiracy to opress black americans and is pushed by the government to make black people seem more uneducated, animal like, rowdy and have no self control.

obviously it cant be proven because just like most conspiracys the government isnt gonna come out and tell us this. but it makes sense to me. why wouldnt the government try to oppress blacks especially if they can use the media as a brain washing tool so they dont actually have to do any physical oppression, just mental. whites have been oppressing blacks for the longest time.

heres some black music from the 50's or 60's in america
seems like a decent song the guys dressed in a suit and talking about the moon and how he wants his girl to stand by him or w/e

heres what where black music ended up today in america

looks like a fool with no self control all he knows is talkin about money, fuckn and killin and cussing

im convinced this is a brain washing conspiracy by the gov man no way they regressed like this out of nowhere. i blame it on skinner and his behavioral theory's man

okay thats my rant

Rap music stems out of the gang life and drug trade in the the cities from where the rappers came from. It appeals to those who are in the gangs, and it seems cool to testosterone crazed teenaged boys everywhere.

yeah i know but the idea thats goin thru peoples minds that believe this conspiracy is that once someone started making gangster rap music, the government heard it and saw they could use it as a means of brainwash with skinner's behavioral modification theory, so they pushed it into the media in order to make black look bad.

Is that why hip hop like this is still "underground" and treated like a plague by the major record companies?

Gift of Gab is the only rapper who I truly feel goes against the mold. Props to Aesop and Deltron as well. The guy above is merely a KRS-One rip off.

tell the truth im not a fan of very much american black music. im all about what jamaica brought

joe higgs, was the vocalist teacher of bob marley and the wailers

bob marley is just more or less joe higgs vocals and lee perrys rhythm. of course bob brought some of his own style to the table as well.

Most music is, nowadays.

Most likely it was some sort of cover for weed or sex...most songs then, even by white people, were like that.

Immortal Technique makes a good point of this, but I think that most rappers (more like Lil Wayne, Kanye, and the really mainstream ones) just rap about things everyone loves doing: fucking, getting wasted, and going out. I doubt that's a government conspiracy. And I'd die laughing if I found out that the government was funding Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman.

Basically it goes this way, there's good, deep underground shit with the best flows you'll ever hear, however they only really appeal to the subset of people that like intellectual rap (J-Live, Jurassic 5, J Dilla and his collabs...he produced for some greats), there is some stuff that is harder, more gangster, and more violent that appeals to that subset of people (Wu-Tang, you can't beat their lyricism though), then there's the mainstream pop shit (Weezy, Yeezy, anyone who does shit with Ker Hilson), and the laughably dumb trap shit (Gucci, OJ, most ATL 'rappers'). However, each has its place and its fans, and I doubt the government somehow funds any of these.

Even the ATL rappers generally follow a guideline about it's not what you say, but how you flow it, and it is really apparent in the beats and the flows, as well as the generally horrendous lyrics. If you look at vocals as just another instrument, though, then it is more readily apparent. Dirty South has always been Dirty.

Deltron

Deltron 3030 is a group, Del tha Funkee Homosapien is who it's named after and he's fucking brilliant. I think he's the brother or a cousin of Ice Cube (who was amazingly socially conscious).

Ever heard of Minstrel Shows and their huge popularity in the past in America?
read up on Minstrel Shows

Thats what this whole MTV gangsta bling gangbanger thug crap is. A modern day "authentic Minstrel show" televised across the nation and the world.

The avenues offered to black actors and artists are to play out black stereotypes. Play a drug dealer in a movie, or build a music career on being a gangbanger tough guy.

THAT sells. The nation eats that right up. Its what they used to call blacksploitation, and Minstrel shows before it.

Many rappers have good music and lyrics that really get you thinking. But thats not the ones MTV & co put in the limelight the most. They want the materialistic bling gangbangers, they go for the lowest common denominator, which is racial stereotypes.

I'm not dissing rap music here, this is a frontal attack on how rap music is being abused to misrepresent, play on stereotypes and all this for the big bucks.

WHO GETS THE LIME LIGHT AND WHAT IS THEIR MESSAGE?

Feel free to apply this not just to rap, but to the evening news, politics and whatnot. Its not about race, its about how we are being divided, conquered and ruled by the powers that be.
All of us, race is but one of the tools they use to hold us all down.

Deltron is a group (Del and Dan The Automator), but I usually just call him Deltron rather than typing out "Del Tha Funky Homosapien". Del pretty much shits on rap though all day. I wish him and The Automator would get back together.

What the fuck does this "Kid Koala" do on the album? Is he like the voiceovers in the back? If so, fuck 'em. He's not needed :vaped:

Can't wait for this though.

For some reason I dislike reggae, but love Dub. I feel that this kind of music should never have vocals over it.
