I have had that happen twice.
Once I flipped it and they grew,
once I flipped it and they just remained
aborted pins.

Youre doomed if you don't do something about it since they will rot and spread the contams so you might as well flip it.

Shrooms will only grow from mycelium that is exposed to light. Next time use an opaque container, that will ensure that the pins appear on the top and not the sides or bottom.

I don't know if there is a way to fix this without causing damage to your shroomage.

I had that happen to me once as well. I flipped it over and then for every flush afterwards I had full grown shrooms on the top and on the bottom. When I stopped putting down a casing layer on the bottom, and just on the top, the bottom fruiting stopped. Be sure that you have a dark container too, or use aluminium foil to wrap your containers.
