Anyone know?? (? arises from failed pan cyan exp)
    #1054087 -

Last month my squirrel had a failed experiment with Pan Cyans. The casing layer took on cobweb that would not be defeated. Anyhow, in the tray prior to removal there were a dozen of the frailest opaque shrooms I have ever seen. The stems on these were no more than .050 thousandths of an inch, and the caps were opaque as well and the shrooms actually dropped black spores. When I found them they were wilted over, and looked like bean sprouts.
Perhaps this was its defense to the cobweb, to spread spores, or it was already in the poo and survived pasteurization I dont know.
Just curious if anyone else ever came across these.

Firstly pan cyan mycelia can often look just like cobweb - if its a greyish blue, leave it and wait to see if it will pin. Those fruits were pan cyans - once the casing is covered in the cottony cobweb-like mycelia, do not mist it, and give it some air and you'll get a new idea of the potency of mushrooms in about eight days...

I wish it was pan mycelia, to my dismay it was not. It was left in the fruiting chamber for 3 weeks total. I probably over misted and did not keep the ph of the casing in check since I had no way to. Air exchange was not a factor. Live and learn. My squirrel will be successful soon.
