Re: Pan Cyan jars have colonized, now what? [Re: scatmanrav]

Well, my pint jars have been dealt with.

I broke down and pasteurized a couple quarts of horse poo, wringing it out by double handfuls in window screen to get the moisture right, and spawned one of the jars to it. It is back in the incubator in a spawnbag. If it colonizes, I have a lidded 6 quart box, lined with black plastic and sanitized with denatured alcohol, waiting for it.

It will be place in my Magash Closet (just who is this Martha person, anyway, and why should she get all the credit?)

where my coolmist, running 24/7, keeps things about here:

The other jar

got wrapped in a double layer of black plastic, top cased with a thin layer of Jiffy Mix Plus, cold shocked for 12 hours, and placed in the Magash Closet.

And, if all else fails, I have Pan cyan "Vietnam" colonizing a quart of WBS in my incubator.

::Sigh:: Someday I'm going to get good at this.

Leimana

According to Stamets and Chilton in The Mushroom Cultivator, the temp range for Pan Cyan for spawn running is 79-84 degrees fahrenheit.. Humidity should be 90+, so according to my book, you're doin' good
