ID request - Possible active

Habitat: woodland, under a large birch tree, England

Gills: white gills

Stem: medium-thick white stem

Cap: approximately 11cm, red, smooth texture with rough white spots


I think I know what this is, just being cautious.
Also, I would really appreciate some advice on what to do with it.

depend what you want , if you like the amerimuscaria or amanita muscaria  intoxication is fine ...
otherwise stick to psilocybes

Amanita muscaria.
Dry the cap in direct sunlight if possible, that helps with the conversion of ibotenic acid to muscimol. Just be aware that the effects are different from those of psilocybin.

As a point of consideration, this species is still legal, and many if not most people do not get the type of high they desire from it. For a potentially successful method to ingest this species, read Clark Heinrich's Magic Mushrooms in Religion and Alchemy.

i had a profound, religious experience on it. i had never felto so afraid,so alive,so great and so....everything. i literally had a true experience on it---but its serious stuff. also, i drank my first urine like the shamans did---that is the appropriate way to ingest it....im not afraid to admit it!

The Medicine men would also give whomever else was partaking of the ritual his urine---because our bodies finish the conversion to muscimol, so was therefore cleaner in every sense of the word!

If i cannot dry them in sunlight i usually dry them on a fork over the toaster, ive noticed a huge change in the experience from heating the caps first.

But either way they still work wonderfully as a pain killer or to give me energy.

Oh yeah WorldSpirit, I think LA just made muscaria illegal not that long ago, along with 50 other things like Echinopsis pachanoi, but there loopholes, like you can grow pachanoi for decorative purposes but not consume them...isn't that already the law in most states?:grin:
