Jar Bruse possible before 100%?

Well I thought I spotted some contam in one of my jars. So far I haven't had a single contam yet on 8+ jars, so I'm expecting it.

I outlined the area I thought was contaminated with a blue sharpie on the outside of the jar. It's been several days and i haven't seen the area expand outside of the outlined area.

The color of it is a bluish green. I'm afraid the contam could be eating the inside of the cake since it has not produced outward expansion against the glass.





There's slight discoloration, however I can't tell if it's a bruse or mold. It could be a bruise or maybe worse. :frown: Anyone have this happen to them before? If the size of the 'infected' area doesn't change, should I birth the cake and slice it open?

I checked it again today. I don't SEE it getting outside of the outline yet. I guess I'll keep waiting and let ya'll know.

i have the same problem at the moment. one patch like that and some little blue dots. from what i have read and from past experience im pretty sure its just bruising and nothing to worry about. but im looking for more answers because one jar can ruin my whole monotub.

heres a pic of mine. similar to what you have. unfortunatley the patch like yours was too faint to show up on camera.

Are you sure enough to risk all of your jars on it?

I had a problem awhile back that I was pretty sure was just bruising, but now I'm pretty sure has caused the contamination of 4 monos.

Play it safe kids, when it doubt toss it out or at least keep it the hell away from your good stuff.

I don't know if its a contam or not, but I am intrested to find some other opinion.

I must say, the more you look for an issue the more the color seems to change.  That jar looks fine to me, but if you are unsure then cut it open at the site when you birth it and you will know for sure.

the sub might bruise easy when you birth it. might just be sensitive.
