great pic.. that cake is ready to birth.. dont think yhat its pinning quite yet, pins do not come from underneath, they come from knots on the surface.. but what i THINK you are seeing is VERM that does not colonize (because its not nutritious) poking thru the MYC

:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

yup ^    its smaller cuz the myc is consuming your substrate and water supply.  that is why when you birth at full colonization you do the dunk and roll.  replenish and supply for the flush.

Have you let it consolidate?

I don't know, you tell me.  What's the difference between colonizing and consolidating environment?

none, consolodation is after you see full colonization on the surface of your cake(s) you let it go for another 5-7 days to make sure its colonized in the center and the myc has a good foothold on the substrate b4 birthing so pins arrive a lil quicker once you put them into fruiting conditions.

Yeah, what 13 said.

That jar doesn't look quite yet ready to birth. Maybe a few more days.

What I was trying to say is, if it has not gone through a consolidation period, leave it be and it will be ready to birth when you get back from vacation or wherever it is you are going.
