Primordia?

My friend's cakes have been in the terrarium for 2 days now and there are little
Q-tip looking bumps forming all over. Are these hypheal knots, primordia, or what?
Is it possible to have primordia in only 2 days time? Hope so :grin:

sounds like hyphal knots or whatever theyre called. i suppose youll be seeing pins very very soon. peace

It's not exactly primordia, but it means your cake is healthy and "breathing".  Primordia begin to form as tiny white bumps.  :smile:

Patience of course but....

Can anyone give me, no wait... my friend, an average time line at this point?
starting at: colonized cakes -> hyphal knots-> primordia-> pins-> mushies
I've read as little as a few days to a couple weeks.

yes, whole process can take from 2 weeks (not likely at all) to a year, depending on setup, temps, strain...

just have your friend be patient, it will come when it comes..

6-10 days is norm.
From 100%colinisation > to pinning.
You have to wait another 3 or 4 days for the shrooms to mature enough to start breaking veils.

12-16 hrs a day
It goes on to say gro-lux Flourescents high in the blue spectra at the 480 nanometer wavelength are optimum.
In my opinion is most any light will do ok, as long as you are not getting problems with heat / over drying.
