Drying Just Fucking Sucks
    #1123347 - 12/09/02 12:23 AM (14 years, 4 days ago)

Ok I've tried everything and I can't find something that works for me.

Fan dry: 3 days but air degrades Psyliocin and no one sells fans anymore since it is winter so I have to use a shitty computer fan which is battery run.

Moes' Tek with the 75 watt lamp 15 inches above a reflector box: Quick but no one can give me a straight agreed upon answer to see if potency drops significantly due to 90 degree heat. This mehtod is supposed to be the quickest however.

Silica Gel: Very very slow. Last time I did this half my crop molded. I'm using 3 - 3.5 lbs of this stuff.

please help me find a solution

Pony up $20 and get a food dehydrator and set it to it's lowest setting. If it still is too hot, disconnect the heating elements. I use a Nesco/American Harvest dehydrator and it does a fantastic job for me.

I have a fan by my bed for comfort while sleeping. I simply place my cubies ontop a magazine and leave them overnight or up to 24 hours. I then place them in a dessicant chamber for 24 hours. I use this stuff I found in a craft shop. It comes in a cardboard tube about twice the size of a paper towel tube. Similar in height. It costs me about 8 bucks a tube. When you buy it, it is not completely dry, probably because it's only in a cardboard like material tube. I dry it in an oven 300 degrees for about 3 hours. Works great. Cracker dry.

It is just a reagular 12 V computer fan. I snipped the positive and negative wires and attached them to one of those big 6V batteries. Gives you I'd say 60 hours of power.

any computer store will sell a computer fan. Cut wires, strip the wires, get 9 volt connector from I dont know say a old smoke alarm or something, sodder it together and tape it up, and now you have a battery operated fan.

Go to Home Depot/Lowes and go to the paint department and grab some damp rid and some wire mesh.  Steal some tupperware from your mom/neighbor( the more airtight the better) and rig it up.  It takes 24 - 36 hours depending on how many you put in there.  Here's a picture of the setup my friends dads gay roommates sister had:

Cool, no?

Doesn't damp rid leave a nasty slime when saturated. Thats what I thought. I'm sure it works better then silica gel, but silica gel can be reused.

Holy fuck, don't get so worked up about it.
I just leave them on top of my hot water cylinder and forget about them for a few days, then stick them in a jar with Damprid if they still need it. It really takes approximately zero effort.

Do you mean in the bottom of the tupperware? It's similar to water, not really slimy...

The wire mesh is about 1 inch off the dessicant, I never let it touch my friends, so it doesn't do anything to them. If you want more detailed pictures of how I did the wire let me know.

Yeah. I bought some once and it came in a container with a spot to place things and a drainage hole for water or whatever it is to collect in. I never used it, I found silica gel. I heard the pellets get all slime-like though when it's used.

I've seen the containers, but I buy the big 48oz refill for $3. As for the remaining pellets in the bottom, I've never personally touched them, I just dump them in the toilet( they dissolve pretty quickly). Now I only put a tiny layer on the bottom, so there aren't really any pellets left. I used to use a lot thinking it would dry it faster, but it would turn into a solid block. Now I know better. It doesn't leave any kind of residue in the tupperware though...

Cool, I might get lazy and not want to dry my silica. I'll use the damp rid I bought, I think it's in my closet.

I definitely recommend it over anything else, you can even put the tupperware in the fridge, and it's cheap enough that you don't have to worry about wasting a little here and there. If you run into any problems, message me...
