Hello people's.I have been drying with DampRid in a tupperware container,it is a makeshift chamber. It has only one level, damprid in bottom and shrooms just above the rid.Is this ok,Iwas in a hurrey this time around. It seems to take at least 4 to 5 days for the funguys to get crisp, also the damprid gets like a sticky coating on it and needs the top layer tost about every 2-dyas or so.The stems seem to be drying hollow do U think they should be ok?Thanks for all the help people.

it usually takes about five days - but your set up sounds find as long (ofcourse) as the shrooms aren't actually touching the C.C. - i usually put them in rice for two days first if they are really damp, then into the desicant chamber...

your time frame is about right. Make sure the mushrooms aren't touching the Damp-Rid its definately something you don't want in your body. That sticky coating is just moisture collecting on the surface of the D-R. You don't have to keep adding a layer, if you want you can just let it sit and a layer of water/calcium chloride will form on the top of the D-R, you can just poor this off and keep drying, eventually the D-R layer will be depleted substantially and you will have to replace it. And YES it DOES work, as I do it all the time.
