I dont think its fair for science to be the standard to which things are held. Our existence is far too subjective and not understood for it to be that way. How is science any different from any other organized religion? It's still worshiping a created god, science itself. We should all just agree that the knowing will never stop, we will constantly be trying to understand this experience and conquer it for the books. Our understanding of this world will constantly change up until the day it ends without our knowledge, i say it's pointless. the great unknown is our only god.

We should all just agree that the knowing will never stop,

Most scientists do and for them it's anything but a god, it's just a method that is extremely useful.

I really have no major disagreement with your post. If everyone could admit that they are not sure of what they believe then I would be posting here in a very different vein.

:facepalm:  What a tired old mantra...  If you cant see the difference then you obviously have no idea what science is (or what organized religion is).

Just because you think scientific inquiry is pointless doesnt make it an organized religion.

College has nothing to do with it.  Religion (organized or otherwise) and Science have very definitions, whether you like it or not.

Theres no physical/spiritual world, only spiritual

I feel theres a threshold to pass through for all beings who wake up to the Self
A Bliss threshold, there is a certain height of bliss, that once you touch, your whole life will be devoted to dissolving into it, until you do dissolve into it....then theres nothing left, Nirvana

I disagee completely, I spent maybe 30+ years on the "spiritual" path and in the end I left it and choose something that worked much better for me.

I'm a nihilist/hedonist. Fuck maybe that's spiritual:lol:

You see, I find this arrogance more so with people who claim science has the answers to everything, and if you believe in something beyond human comprehension, you are "unlearned".

I think it is the opposite of arrogance to claim you are spiritual. I guess it all depends how you present yourself. The Christian missionary, attempting to convert the Amazonian tribesman, would obviously be arrogant. But you can also respect others beliefs while at the same time presenting your own. After all, we all are finding our own way up the mountain.

Who claims that?  I see people bitching about that quite often here on the forums but have never in my life seen anybody claim that.  I have interacted with dozens of practicing scientists - none of them ever claimed anything close to that.  I think thats a made up claim that mystics use to equivocate.

Anyways... If you don't mind sharing, What did your 30 years of Spiritual practice consist of? I find it disheartening that someone could devote such a large portion of their life and receive no fruits of labor. I've only been practicing meditation for a year and a half and I have had a few "irrational" experiences. I like to think I am not falling off the deep end, and I am on to something. What was your tipping point to the skeptical side?
