As far as separating Clitocybe (most notably in this instance, C. nebularis) from Leucopaxillus (typically L. albissimus), I would refer to David Arora's method of hurling the mushroom against a wall....

If it explodes into a mooshy mess, it is Clitocybe.

If it remains mostly intact, it is Leucopaxillus.

The exception would be an old, rotting Leucopaxillus, or a REALLY hard, solid pitch at a stone, brick or equally hard surface...  In which case you will hear a loud POP, like someone hit a baseball with a bat.
