mushrooms in upstate NY

sorry to be the ten millionth person to ask if mushrooms grow where I live, BUT, where can i find wild psychedelic mushrooms in upstate new york this time of year? thanks for your help.

I too live in upstate new york and not very many psychedelic shrooms grow up here (well, in terms of potency and number). I used to have a list of which ones grow here, but I lost it. I'll try and find it. I remember one of them that grows here is the big laughing gym. It would be a good time to look now, with all the rain we've been getting, but don't get your hopes up. I'd try in parks, wooded area and on or near farming land.

Man, if it weren't for that can we found, life around here would be really pathetic.

Here is the list I have, which is from Mapping the Mycelial Network (its in general info):

New York
Conocybe cyanopus (Atk.) K?hn. (Gartz, 1996).
Gymnopilus liquiritae
Gymnopilus luteofolius (Peck) Singer. (Stamets, 1996).
Gymnopilus luteus
Gymnopilus spectabilis
Gymnopilus validipes (Peck) Hesler. (Hesler, 1969).
Panaeolus fimicola
Panaeolus papillionaceus (Bull. :Fr.) Quel. (Gartz, 1996).
*Panaeolus subbalteatus
*Psilocybe caerulipes (Peck) Sacc. (Guzm?n, 1983)
*Psilocybe semilanceata (Fr. :Secr.) Kummer. (Guzm?n, 1983).
*Psilocybe silvatica (Peck) Singer & Smith. (Stamets, 1996).

I starred the ones that i have been looking for, but haven't found any. These are the best for the beginning hunter. You should look at horse farms for pan. subbs, and for the liberty caps (ps. semilanceata) in cow patties. I don't know if they're in season yet though.
