first signs of growth

Just checked checked my pf-tek, brf jars (inoculated with cambos a week ago today), and theres finally some growth in 12/13 jars (despite my sloppy, uneven inoc. job)!! :rockon:
And for all the doubters out there... yeah i'm the guy who steam sterilized with a fucking frying pan (not an ordinary frying pan), and have no signs of contams, and healthy growth from only one day so far. I'm so pumped right now, as this is my first grow...

note: incubation temps (in my terrarium; no separate incubator) were all over the place between like 60 and low 70's. cranked the temp (mid-high 70's ish) and boom, mycelium.

no one said it was inposable i would hope just not a good and reliable way to do it but im sure most are glad it worked out for you this time.

Yeah you're probably right. But I'm sure you can understand my excitement :shrug:

And with 12 of 13 jars on the way at this point, I'd like to think my chances at getting at least one shroom to grow are pretty good. And thats my goal, at least one so i can make a print, learn, and start again.

BTW, my jars are in my terrarium which is a big storage container with the lid on all day and no holes in it. About once, sometimes twice a day I open the lid a bit for a while and air it out... Is this enough air exchange??? what about in the future when/if they fruit?

you need to use the top to fan 3-5 times a day and mist to keep cakes and perlit moist

3-5 times huh? I've read several different things regarding fanning, and have come to believe a couple times a day is fine. U really think 3-5 is necessary tho? Would I be better off just puttin some holes in the thing? I think when the light's on ill have to take the top off anyway (unless it doesnt matter?)...

Hold up a second guys and gals, HE JUST INOCULATED the jars a week and 3 days ago.  He is still in the colonization phase. Why are you all giving "advice on fruiting"?  He should be leaving the lid closed and KEEPING THE CO2 LEVELS HIGH!  He is still about 2 weeks away from misting and fanning 3-5 times a day.  :banghead:
