first signs of growth grey-white?

my first signs of growth in my 1/2 pint PF jars is grey to bright white spots. definitely at the points of innoculation. i used the finest grade vermiculite, so would this growth be a thin layer of vermiculite (some of the more developed spots are bright fuzzy white. is this abnormal growth? or am i contaminated? i fear cob web. any thoughts? i innoculated them oven tek style 5 days ago. jars sit on heatpad at about 72 degrees. please help!!!

You'll know in a few days if it is mycelium, and chances are that it is. Growth does start out as a 'transparent-like' grey.

Sounds normal to me

Optimum incubating temp is 86F. Watch that heating pad, I've heard reports of them drying out jars.
