Internet Activism as Regards Prohibition
    #11121710 -

If you guys want to see a truly gelatinous river full of human dumb. Several of us who try and find prohibitionists on the internet to debate with have found a place called the Turlock Journal. the specific thread where we are 'debating' is http://community.turlockjournal.com/blogs/detail/34/

If you have a few extra minutes, go and post there. It is like fishing in a barrel with an atomic weapon. Just go and be respectful...and engage in no name calling. Just see the mudslinging that this group of good Christian prohibitionists will engage in...all the while without hardly ever engaging in the actual debate.

Its good clean fun for the whooooole family!

Were not allowed to do that any more. No gang raping other websites. ...Officially.

My apologies if it against the rules. When I saw your post, I went to the rules and couldn't find anything to that effect. Is that really the official policy now? If it is, then I'll delete the post...post haste. Please direct me to where it says that.

To save anyone who didn't click the link some trouble, a summery:

"Marijuana is bad."

"Here's stuff saying that it isn't bad"

"That stuff is wrong. And you smoke marijuana, so everything you say is lies."

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I don't know about anyone else though, I find it endlessly cool how well informed, and very, very bright the 'legalizing crowd' is. What I didn't realize until I began to engage this debate more deliberately with prohibitionists is how uninformed they are. It honestly surprised me how mean-spirited, and hickish these people tend to be. I just never really understood what level of raw, unadulterated goofiness they will descend to to try and defend their point.

I suppose I have just been naive up until the last year or so.

This is nice. I'm always sad that we don't get to here the other side of the argument on this site.

Hey moron,

You say marijuana is less harmful than alcohol, prove it.

You can't prove it because it's not true.

Legalizers will say anything.

Dont buy the lie.

Forget all the opinions and propaganda. Here are the basic facts:

Marijuana is a narcotic.

Marijuana is illegal in California.

Marijuana is illegal federally.

Marijuana is NOT going to be legalized for recreational use.

If you use Marijuana, you are a criminal.

If you buy Marijuana, you are a criminal.

If you buy Marijuana, you are supporting a drug dealer.

If you sell Marijuana, you are a criminal.

If you use Marijuana, you are going to fail a pre-employment drug screening.

If you use Marijuana, you are going to be denied health coverage.

If you use Marijuana, you are going to get more and more stupid as your memory is damaged and your synaptic pathways begin to slow down.

If you use Marijuana, people will think less of you.

If you use Marijuana, you will not be taken seriously.

If you use Marijuana, you will become the butt of the joke.

I'm assuming that this is a list of reasons cannabis should NOT be legalized.

All I see are reasons it should be legalized.

"Oh sarah, you cannot explain anything to these stoners. They are addicts and a slave to their drug. They'll say ANYTHING and quote ANYTHING if they think it will help their cause."

"Just don't feed the trolls. They won't listen to your point anyway."

The fucking irony here is so fucking thick you can cut it with a knife.
