I dunno about Rome, there was definitely a lot of bad stuff happening in those socities.

I would have loved to live in an original hunter/gatherer tribe, experience the REAL human life.

Didn't think about that one...so ok, let me say I'd like to be some sort of ranking official, not a too important one, that had some property and a wife or two. I'd like to live in the capital as well. No need to go to war for whatever reason. Just a simple life with lots of sex and natural drugs. It would be quite chill.

there was a movie that came out some time back that turned out to be one of those 'classic' type films that was enjoyed for years to come (can't remember the name of it off the top of my head though) but nah - it was about these wild teenage party types that were around during the seventies, and one of the girls in the film made some sort of comment about how she wished she could have lived through the sixties cause that particular era was so much more groovy then this lame ass seventies shit she was forced to go through (she even threw in some little bit about how the eighties were probably gonna be 'rad' or some shit)

and think everybody probably does this...in pretty much every era too

I, myself, went through my teenage years during the nineties when the whole 'skater' thing was sorta the defining characteristic of that whole point in time...and although I, myself, was never a part of that who scene - I, too, commented on how lame skaters were / and how crappy my whole era asa whole was...but looking back at it now though - the skater phase was actually a pretty cool period too though





I think people just have a natural tendency to down-play their own position in the grand scheme of things  :craven:

Ahh cynicism. It's not that bad, really, here is why

-the internet connecting everyone and all information
-indoor plumbing
-we are on the brink of technological innovations that could change the world, and that tech is growing faster and faster all the time
-subcultures abound(you aren't weird, you just fit into the smaller clique)
-medical marijuana
-gay rights
-entheogens over the net
-all the tragedies of the 20th century are past, so we have the chance to turn things around, or kill ourrselves
-people are noticing the great dangers of money being free speech


We have issues, but every era does. The worst part of it is the whinny bitches (everywhere) who just sit and wish that it was then when then is gone and it's never ever coming back. We are the new generation (or, at least I am, some of you are oldies I'm sure). Rather then complaining, go to college and get credentials so you can change things.

I've always wished I would of been apart of the sixties as well.

I fucking HATE how peace symbols and tie die shirts are fucking "in style" now.  Most of these people shouldn't be wearing this shit, it's not theirs.  And even the whole festival scene is becoming a fad for some kids.  But they aren't as bad.  At least a lot of them actually listen to the music and do some LSD.  There was a pretty substantial groups of hippies at my high school. 

We are seeing some of the same things, but we need more.  Fucking legalize!  Fucking tune in, turn on, and drop out!  And for heaven's sake, everything needs to stop being commercialized!

That's stupid. You don't have to give up yourself to stay in school, not become a bumbling tard that doesn't know right from red. You have it backward. Go to college, try to change things. Yeah the slogan doesn't refer to college in my situation.  I am a very smart stoner, and I don't give us a bad reputation.  I mean drop out of the mainstream bullshit and the propaganda. 

If you think about you could say that everyone on this site has kind of tuned in, turned on and dropped out.  We tune in to the actual state of things (and we don't just accept how we are told things are), we've turned on with the psychedelics, and we've dropped out of the mainstream society.
